More about Three Corners Ocean View Hotel
loved El Gouna especially the marina
We have just returned from a week at the three corners ocean view and loved the location. The Marina is really lovely and very upmarket . It looks even better at night! The hotel certainly has the best location and overall the hotel's facilities were very good. Everywhere was VERY clean and the staff were all friendly, creating a nice atmosphere. However, the food and service certainly lets the hotel down. Getting or finding cutlery was a real problem, drink orders were taken by the staff and very often did not appear!!! This isnt through lack of staff in the restaurant or bar area, its just that they were totally disorganised and thought nothing of answering their personal mobile phone whilst serving! Breakfast was good ( eat in the Du Port buiding - its much less crowded and yes, with cutlery!!) with a wide range of food available. Other meals were OK- very average nut can honestly say we didnt really enjoy any meal. Even the meals in the a la carte restaurants were no more than average (and the service the same!)
Pool areas are great and had fun going downtown in a tok tok (a three wheeler). If you are not bothered about food and service this hotel is fine.
Just returned from an all too short week at the three corners ocean view and find it hard to fault it. The staff are friendly and helpful and all speak varying levels of english, The food is variedand well cooked and well presented. The restaurant is clean and well staffed No health problems at all. The rooms are large and comfortable and well maintained.
Going all inclusive means that you know already what your holiday will cost and the only extras are for trips which of course are optional and if you wish to eat or drink either elsewhere or imported drinks. We found the beverages offered to be fine and for a week the food was varied enough to satisfy us.
The pools are clean and good and the only problem could at a busier time be getting a sunbed but that did not happen this week. The beach is five minutes on a shuttle bus and has its own bar etc.
The only slight drawback is the lack of evening entertainment but they do try!! Their version of Grease will not easily be forgotten!! However there is always Peanuts bar and in the summer plenty of outside drinkingplaces. It only costs £1.50 a week for a bus ticket into downtown el gouna if you want a change of scenery.
The weather was good. Only saw three clouds all week and the infamous wind was not toostrong. In Feb you do still need a jumper/jacket and trousers in the evening though. day temps well into 70s.
All in all would thoroughly recommend it to anyone young or old although the lack of evening hotel entertainment in the summer would maybe be a problem for families with kids between 5 and 14 but this is not peculiar to this hotel it was the general impression everywhere. It has not yet got the "Benidorm feel" and hopefully never will!
The place was amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location, loads to do there, beautiful marina and loads of bars, shops and cafes to visit. Peanuts bar is cool!! Even found a very small english pub nearby.
Only bad points were that the food was the same more or less everyday at the buffet restuarant. However, for all inclusive guests you can eat at belgian, italian and indian resturants for a very cheap price!!! Also the beach is far way, have to catch the free mini bus from the hotel - not worth it at all!!
Swimin pools are excellent. They have four poster beds there!!!
Very good place will defo go again !!
We're going back in October!!
My boyfriend and I stayed at Ocean View for the first week of March and neither of us can fault it! The hotel and rooms were spotless, the food was good and the service impeccable. It was our first trip to Egypt and we absolutely loved it. They have a separate bar just outside of the hotel which is part of the all inclusive deal, this was a brilliant feature as we often like a change of scenery but like everyone else, we enjoy the All Inclusive drinks!!! The towel sculptures they left on our bed daily were a wonderful treat and we always looked forward to seeing what they had created each day! The hotel is next to the marina, which is lined with shops, bars and restaurants which are worth a visit. The hotel also offers a 'Dine Around' facility, not only in the Ocean View a la carte restaurants, but with every restaurant within the Marina. With 'Dine Around' you need to book with the reception before 12.00 and they will give you a voucher worth 50 Egyptian Pounds each towards your meal, this will usually cover about half or two thirds of the bill and is definately worth doing. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and will be back soon!!
If anyone has any questions about the hotel or El Gouna, i am happy to answer them!
fabulous service, staff, food, weather and views
couldn't fault the hotel. excellent in every way possible, food - great choice, rooms very clean, staff pleasant, friendly and helpful, location very relaxing by the marina. whole resort very clean. wind was stronger than expected (NOV), palm tree branches had to be tied up to stop them from breaking in the wind. shop owners always trying to sell you something for a better deal than the next (shop around and be strong at saying NO). liked it so much we are going back again in June 2007 - can't wait!!
Wow, Wow, Wow
This hotel deserves a great revue - but if I do that it might make it so popular it spoils it!! We stayed for 2 weeks in the hotel and were never once bored. The staff were totally professional and the service an example to some of the best hotels in the world as to how to do it. The pools are great, the food, both buffet and a la carte are superb but a trip out into the marina or down town is worth it for a few pounds and a bit of local colour. The dive center in the hotel is excellent and great value for money with the friendliest of people. Egyptians are great people who genuinely care about their visitors and whilst you do get a bit of attention from the shopkeepers, it is no more than you get in Italy or Spain - don't confuse Egyptian shopping with their neighbours in other N. African countries.
If you go to one place in North Africa make it El Gouna and if you go to one hotel make it this one. The so-called better class hotels in the area are in bad positions, have tired decor and the service cannot possibly be better than here. Save your money and go here - you will be hard pressed to find anywhere to rival it anywhere in the world for the great price you pay.
This hotel are what dreams are made for, it is a wonderful paradise.
We stayed here for the first time at the end of Feb and returned in April with my parents.
The food is well above average, even though we used the dine around system quite a few times.
The steaks at Captains Inn are tremendous and i have never seen shrimps as big as thiers.
What do people want to read from a review, well my review of this hotel is tinted with a passion to return again as soon as i can.
The staff are superb and nothing is to much trouble, i even received a present from the bell boy, how nice is that.
The rooms are nice, we had room number 2171 about 15 paces from the swimming pool, what a lovely way to wake in the morning.
The animation team are great especially Sam and Yankee.
The marina is wonderful and is buzzing on Friday night, it is possibly the cleanest resort in the world.
If i won the lottery you would know where i would be living.
It is simply fantastic.
Just returned from the Three Corners and what a fantastic time we had. The hotel was super with warm friendly staff, who couldn't do enough for you. Animation team were first class and the food was well above average and there was a different menu every night. Well positioned over looking the harbour. It's prob the best time to go for the weather as it's only about 90 degrees at the minute, can't imagine it in June, July or August. If you have never been to Egypt make this hotel your first stay. We can't wait to go back!!!
It was our first holiday to Egypt (ElGouna), and we will definately be returning their hopefully soon. The Hotel is very clean and tidy, the rooms are cleaned very well, even under the beds.
The staff are so nice, and always very helpful, the animation team are very nice Tarek was teaching myself and my husband Arabic, we really got into it by the beginning of the second week, they always kept you amused even if you do not want to join in. The singer in the hotel of an evening was very good, he sang old songs and more upto date ones.
Food was fab, there was so much to choose from, and you must do the dine around, if you fancy something a bit different, the Hotel is situated right on the Marina, should a good location and lots of Yaughts to look at, the marina is very clean and tidy.
The only thing that I can say about EL.Gouna is the sea is full of Jelly fish, that apparently do not sting, I did touch one though, and lived to tell the tale.
If you are thinking of a holiday to Egypt El.Gouna is a must, you will love it.
Lets keep it a secret!!!!!!!
Ok, how many of us say we would go back to 'that' hotel on their flight back home? Lots of us we guess. We know, as we have said it several times but the TTCOV just drew us back.
Ok this was our second visit but there must have been 30 couples (not all British) there at the same time as us on their 2nd/3rd+ holiday there.
As on our first trip we cannot fault the hotel, or El Gouna itself no matter how hard we try to remember tha 'bad' bits, there just aren't any.
The staf at the hotel are polite, attentive, accomodating, and very patient from the guys at the towel hut, the waiters, the bar staff, the reception, the guest relations, the housekeepers, the garden staff, maintenance men, the security guys, the bell boys and ok the management BUT not forgetting the animation team.
We could tell you about how good the food is, how clean our room was kept, how the waiters knew what drinks we had etc etc etc but we won't as you have to experience it for yourself.
Please don't let this little bit of Egypt get too popular - this is our secret place with lots more holidays at the TCCOV in the near future.
Three Corners Ocean View
Hi. We've booked the 3 Corners in El Gouna in June. If anyone has stayed at this hotel...how is it? Is the snorkelling any good from the beach that the hotel take you to? Is El Gouna far from Hurghada? We stayed at Hurghada last time and can see it's close, but not sure how close.
Thanks for any info
