great localtion, louzy service, louzy management
Location of Damu Hotel is great.
Unfortunately the service is extremely louzy, including the management. As a citizen of Addis Ababa I have tried to make reservations for visiting journalists a couple of times. Sometimes the rooms were taken by other people, sometimes only half of the rooms were available. The management didn't feel like listening to any complains; 'your colleagues only need to share their room for one night; tomorrow we will have many rooms available' etc. No fun if you coming from long distance or from a long field trip. You'd rather look for another option in Addis Ababa, there are plenty, much better opportunities than the Damu.

Convinience with quality
I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights during my stay in Jan 2010. It is located on Bole Road with perfect access to the city. The rooms are outstanding along with great 5 star service. I look forward in staying there agiain the next time I visit.
