This campsite (3600m) has a fantastic view. There is a small hut where the crew sleeps and make food. It is possible to sleep here, but there is a lot of fleas. The camp is a bit bumpy, but it is the most beautiful campsite in Simien Mountains. There is a cold shower and running water. The toilet have the same standard as the rest of the campsites. In the morning and evening the village people transport their herds of animal of to pasture. They also stop by to sell eggs and chickens.
The Abssinia Hotel is located just across the street from the Simien Park Hotel. There is no sign on the outside, but it is easy to find. There is a restaurant in the front and rooms in the back. Basic clean rooms. There is a communal shower with hot water, which I didn't try. We stayed during Easter and there where a big party and music untill 2 am. We payed 20 birrs a night per bed.
This campsite (3620 m) is about 5-7 hours walk from Gich Camp. There is a dirt road from Debark and possible to drive to this campsite. The site slopes a lot and it's hard to find a good spot for your tent.
The Red Fox Hotel is about a 3 minutes walk from the bus station. Its one of the two main places where tourists stay in Debark. The rooms are clean but basic. The communal shower is brand new but this does not mean that it will work. If not they will give you a bucket.
There is a Sat-TV in the bar and The Cultural Restaurant which offers basic food. The management is very friendly and helpful.
This camp site is about 5 -7 walk from Debark or about 1 hour drive on dirt road. The camp site is close to the road and not very exciting. It is flat and easy to find a good spot for your tent. The toalett is very fility and no showers. There are mulers henging around waiting for work.
The Simien Park Hotel is similar to the Red Fox. It located on the main road half way between the bus stop and the National Park Offices. The communal shower is hot and the restaurant offers basic food.
