Crystal Rose Hotel: confusion in name

bdinphoenix wrote very bad things concerning Crystal Rose Hotel on October 3, 2007 but i stand to make a few corrections so not to confuse guests.
there are two Crystal Rose Hotels in kumasi-they are close to each other anyway-just about 2mins drive apart. the mother hotel (located at Ahodwo) is currently under renovation whiles the other branch (located at Daban, close to Unity Oil filling station) is owned by Crystal Innovations Ltd, management since 2010.
i was surprised at the staff quality, smartness to duty and wonderful breakfast they serve on time and it's premises offers the best environment for peaceful relaxation.

this(Innovations @ Crystal Rose Hotel, Daban) is a 3-star hotel with a very cozy environment.it has a total of 19 air conditioned rooms comprising 9singles, 5doubles, 3twins and 2suites. it is bed and breakfast. it also has a classy restaurant, swimming pool, pool bar, audio-visual conference facility (just for 60pax),laundry spacious car park, wireless internet, DSTV, intercom, hot/cold shower, standby generator,24hr security.
their kitchen/restaurant offers delicious meals and the hotel is patronised by many corporate bodies in kumasi. their rooms are very spacious and comfortable and they provide giant screen movies/football matches at the poolside every evening making my stay there very pleasant.
i think people who dont know this hotel should try it out or if you are an old guest, try out their new and improved services, then you can judge.

Crystal Rose Hotel: Worst Hotel In Ghana

The Crystal Rose Hotel may be the worst hotel in the world, not just in Ghana. Where to start. The roof leaked, right above the bed. The bed was uncomfortable. The toilets were turned off every night about 10PM and the front desk would not turn them back on until the next morning. The ground level windows did not lock and the curtains did not cover the windows adequately. The air conditioner leaked onto the floor and the furniture in the hotel room. Toilet paper had to be requested every day because room "service" would not leave any on their own. The final insult was when the hotel management permitted street vendors to come into the hotel to sell their wares. The vendors did this during meals, in the lobby and just about any place else they spotted a guest. The only good thing here was the food was decent. Only stay at the Crystal Rose if you wish to be miserable.

The people were friendly but they did nothing to alleviate their many problems.

Presbyterian Guesthouse: Presbyterian Guesthouse

After going away at Tasco Guesthouse, the nearby Presbyterian Guesthouse (or Presby's) was the next option, and a much better one. Presby's is situated in a former missionary's building that was built by the British at "Mission Road". The building still looks fantastic and especially at the back, with a green lawn, you can't imagine being in a huge city like Kumasi.

The guesthouse charges 80.000 cedis per night for a double bedroom with shared accommodations. These toilets and showers are very decent and there are enough of them, so the fact that it's shared is not even a problem.

The room has two single bed a closet and a small table, and that is all you need. The terrain is guarded 24/7 so at least you know it's safe.

From the guesthouse it is a 5 minutes walk to the citycentre with restaurants and bars.

Tasco Guesthouse: Tasco Guesthouse

Tasco Guesthouse is very centrally located in Kumasi, in the area of Adum. When I went there by taxi, the driver had big problem finding it, so if you plan to go there it is wise to tell the driver to stop opposite Hotel de Kingsway. They will know that one.

But, according to me, you should never plan to go there. When I came there, the staff told me that I could rent a room for a night, for 80.000 cedis ($ 8,-) per night, but that they wouldn't have electricity at night. When I reacted with asking a discount for the lack of electricity however, they did have electricity at night all of a sudden. Strange story if you ask me.

And when I asked if I could see the room, to see what I would pay that 80.000 cedis for, I was shown a dirty, humid room, with a shower at 50 centimetres from the bed. At that point I decided to have a look at another guesthouse...

Noks Hotel Ltd: Middle of road

The hotel is situated in a side road, some 15 minutes walk from the city centre. There is not a great deal to see or do around the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The staff are friendly, the rooms are quite spacious, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is clean with a semi-sunken bath as well as a shower (but no water the second night we were there). Electricity is erratic, with many dips in the power supply and lights going off at various times.
