(Hollywood): Nyansapow Hotel

Nyansapow Hotel, also called "Hollywood" is one of the cheapest hotel in Elmina. 20 GHC for a small dbl.room. The hotel is located to the north/eastern part of Elmina, 5-10 minutes walk from the town square. Unfortunately towards a mosquito infested pond. Ask for a mosquito net when checking in. The rooms have a fan, tv and bathroom.

Elmina Beach resort: Elmina Beach resort

Elmina Beach resort is the finest hotel in Elmina, but is unfortunately too far from the town (approx 20 minutes walk). The hotel has 91 rooms 9 Suites. All rooms aircondition, minibar and TV. Elmina Beach resort is a part of the La Palm Royal Beach resorts, which has hotels in Accra and Busua.

Unique Quality: Please note that the check-in time is as late as 4:00 PM.

Coconut Grove: Coconut Grove Bridge House

Coconut Grove Bridge House is an OK hotel right in the middle of Elmina town, across the bridge to Elmina Castle. The building is stylish made of old bricks.
I paid 37 GHC for a dbl.room, as it was the price I was offered when I checked in. That is less than 25 USD, which is a good offer. When I checked out the day after I was told to pay another price since I was a tourist. 37 GHC was the local price, they said. But we had already an agreement, so I denied it. The incident in the reception was a trip down for my stay there. I got my will, but I had to argue for it. The hotel staff was although very friendly and helpful.

Please note... I have also seen some other reviews calling this place a ripoff. I advice you to settle the price before staying here. If you travel outside Elmina you will find large and more expensive resorts.

Unique Quality: The best location in Elmina on the main street with view to the castle and fishing boats. The restuarant and the rooms are good. The rooms have aircondition, tv, refridgerator and a nice bathroom.

The price was 37 GHC for a dbl. room (Oct 2010).

relaxing place with small lake and crocos: hans botel

realxing place,...friendly crocos to touch..nice atmosphere
