Shabby, but renovations are ongoing
We spent a day in transit at the Golden Tulip and opted for one of the unrenovated rooms. It was certainly shabby and worn, but not uncomfortable. Opt for one of the rooms in the Executive Wing if you can afford the upgrade. I took a look at one when asking the cleaning staff for directions. They are completely renovated with better lighting and amenities such as a flat screen TV and bed with new fluffy bedding.
Restaurant food was pricey and service was very, very slow. Sit back and enjoy a large beer while waiting for your entree.
Unique Quality: The pool is the perfect place to unwind with a beer as the sun is setting. Live music is sometimes played in the evening.
Well-equipped gym and great tennis courts.

Incredible Restaurant
I didn't stay in this hotel but I had breakfast, lunch and dinner every day in this hotel. I met with few people staying there and they were very pleased with their experience and the service.
Let me tell you about the food in their restaurant indoor or outdoor infront of the pool; I had the best food in their restaurant, the food is impossible to beat, tons of options, super clean and the price is very reasonable: Between $12 - $18
Great service and great food...I can go on forever!!

This is a very pleasant hotel, the swimming pool eating area is a real pleasure.

infact my stay in this hotel was very intersting ,full of pleasure and enjoying ,their dishes are very compresive.they services is excellent.
Unique Quality: they have nice pools,the hotel is situate at the very gateway to the coiuntry,nice building as well.

Good but expensive
I staied two times there because I was with Alitalia Airline crew......there is a swimmingpool, bar and a restaurant (attention is an african service so if you want a seandwich probably will arrive after 2 hours), a casino, hairdresser, tennis court for free and the buffet breakfast is good. the room are a little bit under the average of this type of hotel, but the hotel isn't new.
I was guest of Alitalia, but I know that cost now about 140 us dollars per night, and for me is to much in comparison to the place.
In the city you can find simply, but clean family hotel for less than 30 su dollar

Great hotel for medium luxury
I stayed here for three nights during Aug 2001 en route to Freetown, Sierra Leone and enjoyed it very much. The staff were friendly, the hotel is near the airport and the rooms clean and efficient
Unique Quality: They did have some nice facilities at the hotel but I did not use them. I walked around the neighboorhood and checked out the locals.
