balcony view of Busua Beach from Rainbow Hotel by G33na This would be by the far the most friendliest hotel in this area. The Rainbow hotel is owned and run by Ronnie & his wife who is Ghanaian. They have managed to provide a spacious easy going feel to the place, whilst keeping the Ghanaian culture alive. The staff in general are friendly and polite. If you are in the mood to play pool they have a mean pool table in the bar area ( FREE to residents) All rooms are with ensuite bathroom at very reasonable rates. ( $60/ £30 per room per night incl a fresh breakfast served ) Airconditioning in one room on request. The best about the Rainbow is the view from the rooftop, ( great for a romantic dinner at sunset) With the beach only 50 metres away from the hotel grounds. Well worth a visit for a great chill out weekend. Surf , sand , sea and .... sunshine...
Great rooftop views, super beach and a mean pool table. Young friendly staff. by Butterflytribe I stayed at this hotel, after my experience at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, so my expectations at this point were very high!! This hotel is definitely NOT La Palm, but it was nice. The rooms are air conditioned, but pretty small. The bathroom had running water, a toilet, and shower. In some of the rooms, I was told, there are bathtubs. However, I didn't get that lucky on my last visit.
The hotel has a small jazz bar - with live music in the evenings, a swimming pool (that didn't look too clean so we didn't swim), and a small restaurant. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: P.O. Box 537, UST Kumasi, Ghana

6 rooms on the beach. That's it. You don't have to worry about crowds, or traffic, or waiting a long time for your food. The proprietor, Agnes, actually put me up in her own house the first night, because she didn't have a vacancy. Plus, the restaurant is recognized as the best in the area. Best grilled seafood I've ever had.
Tiny, no frills, quiet. Just you and the beach. Best restaurant around and a very kind proprietor. You'll see signs if driving. Most taxis know the place.

Golden Tulip Hotel Accra on Liberation Road by LamarD2, 2 more photos We arrived in Accra and my buddy's brother, Nana, met us at the airport and took us to our hotel, the Golden Tulip Hotel. The hotel is not far from the airport. It's an expensive hotel, retail about $150-170 EU or $198 - $225 US a night. http://www.goldentulipaccra.com/default.aspx?Language=EN It was nice. I was excited about having internet access. However, I soon realized the the internet speed as not what I was used to. OMG!! :-( It was slow! Only about 111 kbps download. Compare that to my current speed at home, 5,156 kbps! Think about it, it was just double a typical modem speed - 56 kbps. Not exactly what I expected. I knew it would be slow, but OMG! Well, I gave up trying to access the internet to keep a daily journal of my trip. I really enjoyed the restaurant and breakfast was really good. I enjoyed eating by the poolside. The room was nice, however I never could get the TV working. But, I didn't care, I did not come to Ghana to watch TV and I spent most of the time crawling through the internet...
The breakfast was really nice and the food was good. The pool is nice and there was a live band by the pool in the evening! Some of you may remember with affection the old Akuma Village. it is now being renovated and is called The Rising Phoenix. Hotel and bar are opem. Restaurant and entertainment spot are, they say, coming. The place is in central Accra, great city-centre-plus-beach location. Great value for money. Very peaceful for Africa, set in wonderful gardens.
Great views over the old harbour! Friendly staff.
