Terjit Vacances-Nouakchott-Mauritania by johnsakura This place is great for one thing. If you wish to stay right on the beach this is a must. You can camp or rent a "case" which is a small house where can sleep up to 3 people. The price doesnt change depending the number of people inside the "case". price of the case if 4750UM. you can camp for 1500UM if you're cmaping beware of people that are on the hotel trying to sell you things from senegal or mauritania. usually if they can, they will rob things. sad but true.
The hotel is not very clean, i mean bathrooms are ugly and dirty, always being used by workers and some fishermen occasionaly. There two door in the bathroom area. usually one is alwys closed and always better in terms of hygiene. if its closed ask to open it. You have a great thing that is being less than 30metres from the ocean. I stayed in Puerto Del Carmen at the Club Del Carmen which is part of the timeshare community that I beong to. The accomodations were fine but beware of the chilliness inside due to building with marble. I always seemed cold and when not feeling well I could not get warm.
Great full kitchen! Nearby grocery stores made it easy to eat meals in if wanted. Theme: HotelComparison: about averageOther Contact: www.gvc.co.uk

by Aragina I Stayed at Dominics house in the port area at Sousse. We had a maid who came in every day and slung the matteresses over the balcony and hosed the rooms with a water hose, I found this a strange practice. Also we had a blackboard outside the bedrooms with a chart on it to record who had killed most cockroaches overnight :-(. As clean as the house was we could never get rid of them :-( it was free Theme: OtherComparison: least expensive

by kiwiwahine Around 70-80 percent of the trip was camping and predominantly bush camping. We stayed in some awesome places, saw amazing night skies, met lots of locals, sweltered under our nets, near froze to death, drank gritty water, ate vege slush most nights and weetbix tainted with diesel for breakfast. All part of the adventure and free to boot. Free, although we would give empty bottle etc to any locals who came around to check us out.
Stumbling around in the dark trying to find a place to pee in privacy. Ensuring you haven't set your tent up on an ant mound or thorns that puncture your thermarest. Theme: OtherComparison: least expensiveAddress: All over Africa

The Amaan Bungelows at Nungwi in the North are fabulous - particulary if you go 'deluxe' (which wasn't that expensive) and have a sea view cabana. In stone town itself, The Tembo Inn is lovely. The Serena Inn is too 'formula' too 'big, rich hotel' for my liking. Theme: Other

McCushla House in Nairobi is an excellent B & B--charming, unusual decor, excellent service, friendly owner and staff--swimming pool- within minutes of Giraffe Manor and Daphne Sheldrick's Animal Orphanage, both of which are 'Must-Sees' in Nairobi--also within minutes of Utamaduni, Nairobi's answer to outlet mall, but far superior to ANYTHING you've ever seen in the States, as genuine African artifacts, made by Africans-- when I was there in 2000, it was @ $95 per nite--compare THAT to US lodgings ! Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge on the rim of the Crater-- Kirumumu Tented Camp by Lake Manyara McCushla House in Nairobi Tortilis Camp in Amboseli National Park-Kenya Delamere's Camp on Lake Elementitia
Safari Camps out in 'the bush' (with a reputable Safari Company) are beyond anything you could imagine- courteous staff, VERY comfortable, sturdy, secure 'tents', with all the amenities, including hot water for showers---tents bug-proof as everything zips tight shut--homemade foods, breads, delicious menus, some traditional african (but nothing weird) and some american---lots of fresh vegetables-wines, liquors, soft drinks, bottled water-- Theme: Other
