You have sitting room, large bed, unique tub.private toilet and the greatest is the out door shower. We had a large deck to sit on at night and listen too the hippo's right by your room.It had a great wine cellar and good cigars as well as a well stocked bar and wonderful meals. The staff is really incredible

I have been blessed to stay at some of the very best hotels and some humble abodes here in the African continent. Africa is not all about living in tents and huts. I mean, some of us are just not cut out to be one of the participants in the 'Survivor' reality TV series. Yes, some of us (ahem) just like to live a little bit more comfortably under the sweltering African heat... like in a nice air-con hotel room with a lovely swimming pool. Top of my personal list of favorite hotel lodging is of course: The Palace of the Lost City Hotel in Sun City, South Africa.

  • Bed and breakfasts are by far the best way to stay in South Africa.
$25 approximately per person per night

Price is phenomenal but more importantly the attention to detail by the owners is unmatched.
