Flower gardens
If you stop at the Outspan Hotel, take a little bit of time to walk around the gardens, as there are many beautiful flowers all around. This particular hibiscus was part of the hedge!
Kikuyu Village
In the grounds of Outspan Hotel, is a mock-up of a Kikuyu village for tourists. Although it is a little tousisty, it is actually very well done, and quite interesting.
The building on the left would be where the husband sleeps, the one on the right is for the wife, goats and childern!
Treetops check-in at Outspan
You check in to Treetops Lodge at a specially set up reception in the grounds of Outspan Hotel. This makes it a lot easier when you arrive at the lodge.
Aberdare National Park
Twice we have been through this national park, the first time on our way to Mount Kenya National Park, stopping only briefly to have breakfast at the Outspan Hotel. The second time we also stopped for breakfast at Outspan, but this time we saw a cultural display as well as Baden Powel's grave on our way to Treetops Hotel which is also in the park.

Accommodation in Aberdare
We are going to visit Kenya in the beginning of October this year. We'll be traveling by hired 4WD car. I hope we will spend 2-3 days in Aberdare National Park. I have learned that Fisherman's Lodge or Mutiobo Bandas provide good accomodation possibilities within the Park area, but it is necessary to make reservation with Park authorities in Nairobi. Therefore my questions: is it possible to make reservation of these lodges via e-mail or via phone ? Will we find any accomodation possibilities (lodges, bandas, pernament tents, camping places - we will carry our own tent) if we just arrive to the Park without prior reservation?
