The hotel offers a perfect gateway location on the white sandy beach overlooking the ocean. It offers a range of leisure and sporting facilities including windsurfing, fishing, steam bath, massage, tennis and gym. The room come with private bathroom, dressing area, radio, tv-set and a safe.
In my opinion it is 70 metre free-form swimming pool and associated water feature. Hotel provide a weekly entertainment programme for residents, such as live bands, traditional acrobats and local entertainers. Hotel Fontana is situated along Malindi Highway, right next to the Kahama hotel, and looks very attractive. It is built in African style, in particularly the restaurant, with the roofs covered by the shingle. There is greenery, all around the hotel complex, and well maintained garden with a bar. The hotel, however, should undergone certain small reconstruction work, especially the rooms. That is why my friend Juma didn't recommend this hotel to me.
First and the most important it is the restaurant, which is not only the usual hotel type, one of those better to avoid if any possible. The restaurant dominates the whole hotel complex with its high rooftop, covered by the shingle, and large space in a shape of a tribal hut. It offers both traditional Kenyan and international cuisine. Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Malindi Highway

Indiana was the first accomodation during my stay at Bamburi but I didnt feel good in this hotel because it was almost deserted. Actually, I wanted to stay at the cotages but all of them were occupied. My apartment was on the top floor, overlooking the pool, but the whole ambient around me was like a ghost place with no people. Besides, the security guards used to be very rude knocking on my door late in the night and checking wether I am alone in my room. After three days I just left.
I cannot complain about the room, which was nice but the service wasn't good, especially the cleanings. Hotel should be place where people meet other people and feel relaxed, however it wasn't the case in this hotel. Later on I found out the reason why this hotel looks alike to the ghost place. It is managing by the Indian lady who is rude, arguing with the guests of the hotel and changing prices for the accomodation as it comes. Many people left this hotel just because of her bad treatment.

Since I wasn't comfortable in the hotel Indiana, have ask my friend Juma (local taxi driver) to suggest me a new accomodation. He took me to the nearby Kahama, smaller but nice looking hotel. It is run by the local contractor now who is doing all what takes in order clients feel good and comfortable while in his hotel. The double room is big and airy with plenty of lights during the day. The bathroom is ok too, however, deficient for some usual facilities same standard hotels in Europe have. The pool is clean, aswell as the whole abmient around the hotel. In case one need laundry and ironing its available, quick and very cheap.
The staff of the hotel, in a first place, very friendly, kind and smiling all the time. It is place where client feels good and respected. It is nice to see Maasais guys around, wearing their traditional cloths and arms, taking care of the security inside and around the hotel area. The Pitcher & Butch pub and restaurant offers live satellite sports events on a number of big screens, DJ mixed music during the week and good local bands performing live on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
