City centre gaff

When all hell was breaking lose in Mombasa the Royal Court was safe as houses. The bar on the roof is a nice civilised place even if prices are a bit out of my normal price range. Shame the pool is so small.

Hotel In The City

This hotel is situated in the heart of the the city, I stayed here for 45 days on my trip to mombasa. This 6-story building is conveniently located close to the city's major railway station. The rooms are big and well lit. I liked the ciew outside, it is one a busy street, so I could see the residents on thier daily chores. All rooms are fitted with immaculate, modern facilities and it's rooms overlook city. The hotel also caters for conferences, weddings etc. and is regarded by many as the finest hotel within the city center.

I was disappointed with the food served in the hotel. There were many better places to eat. The hotel has a casino and most of my nights were spent there.

Overall a very comfortable stay.

Best Hotel in centre of Mombasa

If you are wanting a little escapeism in the centre of Mombasa town this is the place to go. The roof top terrace with swimming pool, suna, gym, poolside bar and rest....are a bit of heven, and you feel so far away from everything.

Unique Quality: The feeling of being in the sub-burbs in the middle of the city centre. Roof Top Pool and view from that are amazing. The service was great (as per all of Kenya).

a nice affordable hotel

The Royal Courts hotel is a really nice modern hotel in the city centre. It's 6 floors high - there's a restaurant on the top floor, and there are panoramic views over the Mombasa skyline. Rooms were large and comfortable, with a safety box (which didn't work) and a TV (which worked). When I stayed there there was no other white person: only later I discovered that the hotel is normally used for African conferences and meetings

Unique Quality: the wonderful pool on the 6th floor: great for a refreshing swim after a long day of city-dwelling and exploration. There's also a fitness centre on the 6th floor - but I did not feel like working out - after all the day's walking
