Turtle bay beach club: One of Kenya's best hotels

TBBC is a fantastic hotel situated in turtle bay, Watamu , We arrived with a welcome from the management and staff in the rather nice reception area, and given a nice welcome drink which was needed after the long tranfer from Mombasa.
The pool is very nice but we prefer to spend our time on the beach it gets so hot around the pool as the sea breezes are restricted, the beach is superb, white sand, beautiful indian ocean and numerous coral outcrops thrust out of the sea making turtle bay one of top beach destinations in the world.
The food is superb, in fact the best we have ever had from an all inclusive set up, there is also a pizza restaurant which we loved and a good a la carte restaurant which has service which is second to none, you have to pay for the latter but its worth every penny.
What really smacks you about this place is the staff who are trained by an excellent management team who really make you feel welcome, they remember you when you come back to visit and are so genuine, its great to see the same staff members every year, usually hotels of this type have a high staff turnover , not this one.
This year will be our third visit in 3 years, we love this place and its great for my fishing which I really enjoy, and can be booked locally or through the hotel.
Best place we've ever been on holiday to and if we have our way, our only destination for us , for years to come.
Just returned from TBBC after a wonderful time (august 2005), since last year there has been many improvements notably the new bar in reception which is superb, this hotel keeps getting better and better, its good to see that this place just doesn't stand still like so many other hotels, met so many lovely people again this year, some of the people we met were on their first visit to TBBC and all say they must come back again ! can't say we blame them, looking forward to returning again next year.
If anyone requires any details at all about Turtle Bay Beach Club or Watamu then please get in touch.

Turtle Bay Beach Club: A fun place to stay in Watamu

3* hotel so rooms a bit basic. Air conditioning and mosquito net but no TV (TV room at reception). Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids in standard room. Lovely pool area leading onto the beach. Lots of sunloungers for those who just want to relax. We stayed all inclusive so unlimited food and drink. Food was all buffet style (apart from one night where as part of the deal you ate in the a la carte restaurant). Good variety with lots of international food and local delicacies (whole tuna, antelope steaks etc). Drink flowed freely but saw no-one drunk. Bar staff produced a variety of cocktails daily (and non-alcoholic ones for the children which made them feel special). Hotel staff friendly and service good. Entertainment staff and kids club staff worked their socks off to ensure we all had a good time.

Entertainment very varied (local dancers, snake show, disco, live band, gymnasts etc) - you will get used to singing the catchy hotel song and might even want to join in the dance!
What can I say about the staff - they were all excellent. Good service from all, room cleaned thoroughly daily, laundry back on time, entertainment staff worked hard, kids club staff had the patience of saints! If you joined in you collected points which you could exchange for t-shirts, key rings etc at the end of your stay.
A guided walk was organised every day to see the surrounding area - well worth going on a few to see how the locals live.
Hotel also organises own trips which are good value - but safe to get taxis and go out on your own as well.
