Tented Camps...a must
by Cacharel about Kichwa Tembo in masai Mara, Ziwani Camp...
Enjoy tented camps, most of them are very conforatble and located closed a water point wher you can see and hear by example hippos singing in the night :) Don't get out yr tent in the night, you may face an impala, a hippo or a zebra... Excellent food served...you feel as Livingstone discovering Africa...When staying in tented camps, you will wake up very early ( around 6 am) dor an early morning drive around the camp, one of the best moment to see wild animals, lions, Chitas..hunting.
Jambo Africa

"Jambo Africa!"
Chapter 1: 15th, 16th, 17th
On Saturday 15th May, we reached Nairobi. While we were landing we saw our first animal which was a zebra! The weather there was pleasant. We then flew to Masai Mara in a tiny plane: only 10-12 people could sit in the plane! I could see what the pilot was doing, since I was sitting right behind him.
When we reached there there was a real Masai warrior to take us to our camp. His name was John and he would be with us in our camp (Kichwa Tembo). While going there we had a mini safari . We saw deer, a warthog and some birds.
In our camp there were many pet warthogs whom Boni (my sister) named them as ‘Hotdogs’ and ‘Wartdogs’! In our afternoon safari we saw a pride of lions. We thought that they would make a kill, but they did not. We later moved on and saw some deer and other animals. The best thing was seeing a carcass hung from a branch of a tree by a leopard!
Next day we went on a morning safari and saw many animals. We saw a herd of elephants, mongooses and even a male lion. The best thing was seeing a cheetah ! We stopped next to a river full of huge hippos and a crocodile. While this was happening, we almost saw a cheetah chase. Later in the afternoon safari we saw a pack of hyenas but we also had to rescue a jeep stuck in mud. When we came back, we saw a Masai dance.
Today (17th) we woke up very early and went on a Balloon Safari which was awesome! We saw many animals from the balloon…..but I think the best thing was the landing! Then we had a bush breakfast and went back to Kichwa Tembo.

hi Sarah,as a person who deals with the camps in Mara regularly, I suggest little governors Camp and for honey mooning I would also put Batteleur Camp (Kichwa Tembo) With their view on the Mara and wide range of animals at this time of the year, it would be a memorable experience. may be I can help you organize this if you dont mind.
