Excellent accommodation for the budget conscious

This hotel is an excellent choice for the budget-conscious who are travelling to Nairobi who don't want to break the bank by splashing out on unnecessary frills and facilities.

The Country Inn is located in Upper Hill, fairly close to the CBD and Westlands, in an area which appear to be rapidly developing as a business hub in its own right. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and equipped with all the amenities that a business or recreational traveller would need, along with excellent security. The furnishings are in a slightly spartan Scandinavian style, and the atmosphere is quiet and restful.

It is clear that the hotel has managed to keep down prices by not investing in an on site restaurant, bar or other luxuries such as a swimming pool - as a result, accommodation is very competitively priced compared to other hotels in the area and excellent value for money (so be warned that it's often booked out). The room rate also includes an unspectacular but serviceable buffet breakfast, and information is also provided on delivery services from local restaurants if you don't feel like venturing out for lunch or dinner. However, if you are looking for a takeaway option, may I suggest that you treat yourself to a meal from the stupendous Anghiti indian restaurant?

The Country Inn is located right next door to the Fairview Hotel, and I believe that they are under the same management. The Fairview has more extensive facilities, including a swimming pool, and, as a result, is more expensive.
