visa

by fairlight

Hello everyone,

I will be going to Kenya in 3 weeks. I know I can get visa when I arrive at the airport. The only problem is, I will be arriving at 2am on Saturday. Does anybody know if I will be able to get visa at that time of the night?

Thank you

Re: visa

Hi,

You don't get the visa at an office, you pay at the normal Immigration desk. I have been though at midnight and also 6 am.

Thank you very much

In an effort to lift tourism, the Kenyan Government has just reduced the Visa fees by 50%.

If you go to the link below you can print the visa application form and present it to customes when you arrive. This will allow you to avoid the long line of people filling in the form on arrival. (It does refer to AUS$, just ignore the currency as they will tell you how much when you get there.

Travel Tips for Nairobi

Be smart...put that Tusker down.

by RblWthACoz

I think everyone generally knows about Tusker beer. Right? But did you know there is another Tusker as well? There is a Tusker Malt Lager (it comes in a green bottle) that I thought was WAY better than the standard Tusker. Just order "Tusker Malt" and try it. It's worth it (and sits at 5% as well) :-). the first moment I sipped the "Tusker Malt"

How Safe is Food and Water in Kenya

by greekcypriot

In Kenya food and drinks should always be treated with some consideration. Tap water is never safe in Kenya. Always drink bottled water, which can be bought throughout the country in sizes between 0,20 and 5 litres. Be aware that there are less refridgerators in Kenya than in North America or Europe, and many people in Kenya don’t use the same standards of hygiene when handling food.

Meat, fish, eggs, and to a lesser extent dairy products and anything that isn't cooked or baked is riskier than other cooked products (rice, potatoes, vegetables, etc.) This also goes for "fresh" fruit cocktails, et cetera. Better take soft drinks, bottled water, tea or coffee (especially when the water was really boiled).

What if......

by croisbeauty

What to do if, all the sudden, such a scary head appeares out of the bush right in front of you? What if two of a kind? I guess the best is what I did, remain cold-blooded and taking the pics. What they did? They ignored me completely and just passed on the other side of the road. It was so unexpected and funny.
Later on I met this lovely couple lying on the grass and still ignoring my presence.

Memorial to the former US Embassy

Those who kill other people because of political or religious reasons are nothing but the criminals. What makes them belive that the bomb can be more effective than a word? Is it worth to kill innocent people for any political cause?
