Could do better just down the road
Overall the stay was not worth it. At these prices you expect to have hot water, good service and less noise. The hotel is pretty and the architecture nice in places, but the staff makes you feel invisible and once you get in your rooms things are pretty shabby here. The noise from the highway disturbs a good night's sleep.
Unique Quality: Pool is nice, though very small. Restaurant is beautiful but food is bad. Good place just for drinks.

Nairobi Airport
Hi, Can anyone tell how far the airport is from Nairobi City, also the cost by taxi.
I have an early flight and I believe there is no hotel at the airport, is this true ?

The distance is 18km- no idea of taxi cost. And no hotel at airport.
There is apparently a shuttle service from airport to most hotels........

I believe I paid $20.00 for a cab from the airport to the downtown area. I arrived in the night when it wasn't so busy and it was possible to barter with the drivers who were waiting around.

About half an hour and its depend if there is no traffic jam
and transport for the taxi is about 500/sh

Not so far then, but there is a big difference to $20 to Ksh 500 Bob.
Somewhere in between will be fine though, just a pity they do not have a hotel at the airport.

Cost by taxi shouldn't be more than 500ksh for the locals but you'll probably be told that the cost is 1000ksh. Try to bargain for 800ksh and you'll be paying a fair price. There is no hotel at the airport...best ones are in downtown Nairobi but depending on what you want, there are small ones scattered around the outskirts of town.

Since you're not a local, the cost from the airport to downtown is around 1000-1200 shillings (about 10-12 euros), a bit more if you're going further than downtown.
