    Can't say much about this accomodation because I never stayed over night in this hotel. However, its location is very attractive, not far from the city centre and yet in a very peacefull area. It dominates on a small hill, surrounded by the greenery, and offering nice view at the busy city centre.

    Besides tranquility, Panafric hotel offers very good restaurant. I was here with a friend of mine during her break for a lunch. She ordered grilled steak and chips while I followed waitress's suggestion ordering tilapia filets. The food was exceptionally good, as well as wine. Lunch for two cost me something less than 3000 kes.

    First a word of warning: we have not stayed in the Panafric Hotel since 1986 and many things may have changed since then. I can only base my tips on my experience at that time.

    Great view from our balcony over Kenyatta Avenue with its flowering Jacaranda trees, and further to Nairobi in the distance.

    Nice swimming pool area where you can relax inbteween excursions.

    Excursion desk in lobby where you can arrange many different trips to the various attractions in the area, as well as day and overnight safaris to the national parks of Kenya.

    All rooms are Air-conditioned, with private balconies, direct dial telephone, en suite bathrooms with shower and WC, 24 hours room service, satellite TV with 10 channels (CNN included), mini-bars, non smoking rooms, hairdryers, coffee maker and alarm clock. Other services include concierge, free parking, bar and restaurant, safety deposit box, lounge and coffee shop, 24 hour room service, Jacuzzi, sauna, conference facilities, laundry and dry-cleaning services.

    • Stayed several times in this rather dated hotel. Rooms are okay, restaurant area is okay, reception is quick and friendly, swimmingpool big but cold. Breakfast is good. A lot of safari parties start or end their safari here.

    The bar is the nicest part of the hotel. Always busy, many nationalities, always someone to chat with.

    I stayed a few nights in Panafric in August 2005. The room we had was nice and clean. We were staying in 5th floor and had a nice view of the city. The service in the restaurant was very good and the staff extremely friendly. We had our luggage stored during our travelling in Kenya and Tanzania. The hotel has taxis that took us downtown and picked us up again.

    The hotel is okay and is a medium range hotel just out of the CBD and on the corner of Uhuru park. The hotel includes a reasonably good restaurant and pool plus business centre and plenty of conference rooms. The staff were really friendly and security very good with guards sited on each floor to protect guests.
