most expensive but very safe
I think the most important is that the hotel is safe. The price is high and the standards are not up too the charges, but considering is Nairobi I would say ok for a short stay.

One of Nairobi's Best
New York Chic meets African Essence! No hotel slogan could be closer to the truth! The Tribe Hotel is unbelievable - beautiful atmosphere, spectacular rooms and superb service.
I stayed here for six nights for a conference in January 2010. We were a fairly rowdy group of 60, but the hotel was 100 percent accomodating for our group's needs. Our room rate included a nice breakfast, which consisted of standard fare, plus an omlet bar. Other meals I had at the Tribe were pretty solid - though I would suggest exploring Nairobi's restaurant scene, eating at the Tribe is pretty good too.
Perhaps the most attracting feature of the hotel is its beautiful lobby and outdoor pool/jacuzzi area. The decor of the hotel is almost breath-taking. A strict attention to detail is obvious and the hotel has literally hundreds of places to sit back and relax -- both in and outdoor. Very impressive; one of the best I've seen.
On the quality of service, we were very impressed. With the notable exception of one woman (working in the book room at reception), we encountered nothing but excellent service during our stay. We felt very much "at home" the entire visit.
Lastly the rooms - some include a soaking tube, which is definately the highlight of the room. They are somewhat small, but very very functional and comfortable. Size aside, if you're fortunate enough to be staying at the Tribe Hotel, you won't be spending an inordinate amount of time in your room.
