A Classical Lodge

The lodge offers full board, very good accomodation, good locatoin at the middle of the park.

Unique Quality: Large and comfortable rooms.
Food is ok, though variety and tastes can be improved.
We paid $250 per room (2 people) full board.

  • Opinion of Price: less expensive than average

Our liitle Villa in Amboselli

Ol Tukai Lodge – Amboselli
This lodge is magnificent. On arrival we are given nice warm towels to clean the red dust from our faces and hands as well as exotic cold juice.
Our room is actually a little villa with stone floors and a front verandah. Animals roam close by so we are escorted to and from our room to the main lodge .Once again the food is fabulous and the service first rate. We take a refreshing swim in the pool between game drives in an effort to work off our huge lunch .
World renowned for its location for viewing huge herds of elephants, sadly the horrific drought has changed all that. Today the elephant population is barely surviving.

Wonderful food, staff and best location for views

Unique Quality: Where else on earth can you view elephants doing the "Elephant" walk, past your cabin's front porch, separated only by the electric fence as the sunsets on the backdrop of what is Kilimanjaro; permanently snowcapped year round.

We heard lions roaring in the distance, making their call to mark their territory to other lions in nearby groups.

A beautiful swimming pool, overlooking the mountain. While swimming, you can watch elephants or dust devils dance across the plains. Ocassional zebras wonder up to the fence side to peer over at the human action. Truly magical place!

Wonderfully comfortable beds, quiet, serene surroundings and the ever pleasant staff complete the picture!
Don't miss out on the "quieter" 2nd story, less frequented where you can sit back, relax after dinner and enjoy your cup of Kenya coffee or an after dinner drink.

More about Ol Tukai Lodge

ol tukai lodge

by hanspeter_W. about amboseli

Ol Tukai Lodge is one of the best spots in the world to watch elephant with the backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Writers have described Ol Tukai and the surrounding Amboseli National Park ‘as a home for the Gods’. A place of rugged beauty, abundant water, lush grass and forest, set like an oasis in surrounding savannah scrub. To crown it all, the Gods look upon one of the worlds most awe-inspiring sites – as dawn breaks and the sun sets from the 19,000 foot snow capped dome of Africa’s highest mountain.
Ol Tukai Lodge is a high-class tourist resort situated in the heart of the Amboseli National Park, which is one of East Africa’s most fascinating wildlife and nature parks. The lodge has eighty guest bedrooms and was opened in April 1996. The property has received overwhelming response from the international and local tourism market.
The buildings are spaciously laid out and the property has well maintained flat lawns, gardens and wide open spaces. It is an ideal spot for star gazers in the African tropical nights. The property overlooks Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro and the Amboseli plain to the south and the eastern boundary is home to several families of elephant known to be amongst the best spots in the world to watch elephant.
