Water Crest Garden Guesthouse: Tranquil Garden Guesthouse
Our Group of 13 stayed here in June 2011 while on a mission trip. The service was wonderful, food was delicious. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and very quiet. 24 guard service. Most rooms have en suite bathrooms. 4 bedrooms in the main house and 2 bedrooms in the rear house. Staff is professional yet felt like family! Close to Moi Teaching hospital, Faith Testimony School, High Altitude Training Center. Driver can be hired from here. Highly recommend staying here when in Eldoret. My friend tells me the rooms are now equipped with WiFi and Flat Screen TV's

Unique Quality: Great for groups, families, people who like quiet setting within walking distance of town. We had a garden party in the front yard one night - owner provided a party tent and heater.

CICADA HOTEL: BEST PLACE YET
The service was great the waiters were friendly and always alert yet gave you your privacy. Though it took some time, the food was also well prepared and the place is beautifully made and clean which is hard to find in Eldoret. It was an experience worth my money
Unique Quality: the bar has big screens and exotic drinks, again rare in Eldoret. Located in a quiet environment yet within town. Hot water showers, television sets in the rooms and internet facilities.

RElax inn hotel: Relax inn the best place to relax
The enviroment is very clean with beautiful flowers. The rooms were very clean and well kept. There was hot water and not to forget good room service. The food was delicious nd we also got a chance to watch football on a big screen.
THIS IS A PLACE TO BE.

White Castle Motel: Overpriced ´dungeon´
Rooms were clean, though could never close the window (also no mosquito net). I have tried 4 rooms. TV remote poor (built-in wooden box!)
Bathrooms are poorly maintained, making it impossible clean. Much rust on the plumbing. Hot water after some 10 minutes, some rooms do not. Vent flows into the room ...
Elevator was often out of action. Breakfast was very sparse (sausage and egg on toast with tea or weak coffee, cereals, fruits well).
Particularly uninviting atmosphere, little guests.
NEVER AGAIN!
Unique Quality: Beds were good.

Sirikwa: Eldoret's Best Hotel
We have stayed at the Sirikwa twice (2005 & 2006). We actually had out 28th wedding anniversary there, not really by choice. We were on mission trips both years, and this was the best hotel in the area. That is not to say that it's a nice place, just that there are no others around that are better. It is poor quality by American standards, but fair by Kenyan standards I guess. The bathrooms were very dirty, and the furnishings were very worn, but the sheets had been changed and the room had been somewhat cleaned as far as we could tell.
We did not have mosquito netting, but found out that some of the rooms did. The hallways are very dark and kind of scary if you are alone.
The restaurant is decent, but we usually went across the street and ate at the Wagon Hotel. You do need an escort to even cross the street at night, and that was before all the violence going on now.
The bellhops are very sweet and helpful and were thrilled that we allowed them to keep our flip-flops and pillows that we had purchased at the local "Wal-mart" type store. I wish that we had left them all of our food as well.
We did feel that we were overcharged, as Americans. I think the price for locals was probably a lot less.

Naiberi River Campsite: Camping in the cold and the Cave bar
My first camping experience in Africa it rained, I got cold, I got wet and even in spite of this, I fell in love with camping in Africa. We stayed at Naiberi Campsite just outside Eldoret and pitched our tents in the campground facilities. Nearby there was a cool little cave bar for some much needed warming up drinkable alcholic beverage and we cooked for the first time on the open fire in the night of Africa. It was smiles all round at the campsite as everyone showed much anticipation and my tour group with Kumuka got to know each other
Unique Quality: The Cave bar was pretty cool...

The New Lincoln Hotel: Cheap and Comfortable
The New lincoln Hotel is a large hotel. We used it alot of time while in Kenya. We where part of a group called AV volenteering teaching in Kenya so would all turn up at once so they are used to large groups. A double room has too double beds so can fit four people in but you could cram in more if you wanted too. A double room costs Ksh800 and this includes 2 breakfasts so if there are more than two people and want breakfast you pay extra but this is only about Ksh150. There is supposed to be hot water but we could never work out how to turn the heater on.
There is a bar and restaurant downstairs.
One piece of advise is only use the toilets in your room. Do not use the one by the bar YOU WILL BE SICK it is not a pretty sight.
Unique Quality: If you can call it a unique qualitie then here goes.
The music next door plays from 8pm to 8am with a range of music including Brittneys "hit me baby one more time" being a favourite. However this is normal and cannot be avoided. After a while you get used to it.
