Unique Quality: Little Governors Camp was built in 1976 in the Masai Mara in Kenya with its own independent structure around a watering hole that teems with birds and wildlife. Intimate in character, there are just 17 tents tucked around this watering-hole. From every veranda the view changes daily: Giraffe and Lion, Elephant and Warthog.
Getting here is an adventure in itself; you first have to cross the Mara River by boat, and then walk a short distance, escorted by armed guards, through the forest.
All the tents are comfortable and tasteful. Each has en-suite bathroom, hot water, even bidets. In keeping with safari tradition lighting is by gas and kerosene lantern or candlelight. As dusk falls the flickering lights in the forest make the camp a uniquely peaceful and atmospheric place.
Would highly recommend Il Moran.
Il Moran is in the heart of the Msai Mara, we stayed here for 4 days and thought it was absolutely wonderful. There are only 10 tents and all very private from each other. The camp is located on the Mara River, so you can literally step out of your tent and watch the animal activity on the river. We saw crocodiles, hippos, elephants, baboons, water buck, zebra, it was just wonderful. Food was outstanding and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. We did a safari walk and a balloon safari, whcih were both just wonderful.
The tents are very large and extremely comfortable.
Unique Quality: Large comfortable tents with superb en suite facilities.
You eat your meals under the trees opposite the Mara River at night time a large fire is lit and the tables are arranged around it. Chefs always very accommodating. Good food. Wonderful staff.

It is a dream in itself and worth the (expensive) money.

The thrill of a brush with Africa’s big game is what you will experience.Close to the big cats on a game drive in a four-wheel-drive car. One can take as many drives as you like, all included in the room rate.
Directions: About 40 minutes flight from Nairobi to the west, to the Masai Mara Game Reserve,by the Mara River.
