ASC Camps: Mara Buffala Camp in the Masai Mara

The Masai Mara Buffalo Camp (one more of ASC?s private Camps) is located in the Masai Game Reserev more than in the National Park itself.
It is about 15 km drive to the National Park, over very rough roads, but actually the animals don?t make a big difference inside or outside the (invisible) park borders.
Only the Masai after which this area has been named are not allowed to take their cows and goats inside the park.

The Camp itself is clean, small A-shaped bungalow huts, some of them directly at the River, others gathered around a green area in the camp.

Central meeting place is around the camp fire and under the roof of the Bar and view point over the river.
You eat in two rooms located next to these.

Food is good, drinks as well (just don?t take the white house wine - it is nothing special at all, it has no color and not much character either).

Unique Quality: In the night you can clearly hear the Hippos thet live in the River. They make noises like low loud laughing (harr harr harrr). They should not come out at this side, because the border of the river is steep, but take care anyway.

There are other animals walking through the camp: baboons, impalas, and not to forget the tame zebra "Milai", 5 years old, that also roams the camp. You can cuddle it - if it comes to you.

The hippos have a place where you can normally find them during the day: under a tree in the river. It is fun watching them for a little. Coming up and diving down like small submarines,

Water pressure was a little problem in our room, but there was some warm water (especially if you look that you shower when not everyone else does, too).
