Hotel Relais des Tsingy: Luxurious

We arrived off the ferry without a place to stay and our driver trying to push us to stay at a certain hotel, which I am sure he would have made commission off of. We were going to take a look at this place, but along the way, we passed what looked like an oasis. Down the road from the park headquarters, rounding a bend and the first major establishment on the right side, the Hotel Relais des Tsingy was truly luxurious for these parts. With a French chef/owner waiting on you hand and foot, your stay cannot help but be wonderful. The bungalows, as you can see, are above and beyond what you would normally expect out here in the middle of nowhere, the cuisine was top-notch, and luckily for us, it was low-season and since we were three, he gave us two separate room for us to spread out, only charging us a discounted rate for one. All in all, a completely unexpected gem.

Retired French chef/owner
Amazing food
Made us "bag-lunches" for our treks
Brand new facilities
