Kande Beach Campsite: Chateaus on the Lake
Kande Beach campsite offers various accommodation, from camping, to dorms to the cool beach chateaus which I took as my option to upgrade during my stay there.
A popular overland campsite, located right on Kande beach, just opposite Kande Island on Lake Malawi, is sooooo nice. Wake up put on your togs, walk 15 to 20 metres and you are in the water. A great way to cure the hangover after a campsite tradition. It is quite often tradition that overland buses have a 'bad taste wear night' and this combined with a tour goers birthday leads to much shenanigans...
Unique Quality: Right on the lake, the campsite has its own very cool bar, you can go horseriding right from the site, walk to local markets, or just relax and take a dip, snorkel or even learn to dive.

kande Beach Resort: Excellent!
Kande beach resort is primarily a campsite with loads of room for tents. It is used frequently by the overland trucks. They have a limited number of rooms. Chalets for 3 people are $14/pppn. Dorms are $8/pppn.
The campsite is right on the beach of the lake with Kande island a km out on the lake. There is a volleyball net and a pool table. you can hire out pedlos and kayaks. They also organise diving in the lake. its a great place to chill out, and party at night as it has a good bar with loads of room to party! Just outside the campsite are little huts where locals sell crafts.
