Cheap Hotels

In Mali, you will find some cheap, small hotels or guesthouses. It's also not uncommen to stay in a house with a familly, as the maliens have a very well developped hospitality!
As a bus journey can tend to be a long lasting event, you have alsao sometimes to sleep next to the bus in the middle of nowhere...

Hotel Kanaga: Hotel Kanaga

30000+ CFA / $60+ Canadian / $40+ US

55 Rooms

It was just like any motel here in the west; shower, toilet, comfortable beds, etc. There was a swimming pool in the courtyard, and on the night we stayed there they had live entertainment at the poolside until 11pm. There is also a lisenced restraunt on the premises. We ate breakfast there in the morning and watched little lizards scoot in and out the front doors. :) This place was way more expensive than the other motels in Mopti, but it was worth the price.

Le Fleuve: Le Fleuve

It's close to the center of Bamako. It's cheap (well reasonnably cheap), the rooms are clean but don't expect too much : the air conditionning was broken and the hotel had no emergency power supply. It's located next to the Appaloosa, so you can stilll go for a beer in an air conditionned place !!!

There is only one 'HOTEL' in...

There is only one 'HOTEL' in Bamako. Lovely, I enjoyed my stay in Mali. The people are friendly and nice. The 'HOTEL' is one of the 2 buildings in the city that has more than 4 floors (the other is the Bank)
about 30 usd

Nice pool and the food is good. Gives great view of the Niger.
Nightfighters are all over you if you are a single male. If you do not whant them into your room, lock up after you enter 'cause they will follow you all the way into your room... ;-)
