Nombori tourist camp.: When I mean basic...
Of course, we arrived here just before night after a long walk (almost 30 km but it was our own choice) in the sand and under a terrible sun... TIRED !
So, it was quite hard to appreciate many (kind!) children running and shouting... Plus hens and goats everywhere.
A pity because actually, the place was quite good.
Example of less than basic camp…! There are 2 camps at Nombori. The other (bigger) one was full so we went in the small one.
Rather a camp for locals when they move around. Probably a very good place for meeting people... But we were too tired.
Good place anyway and it makes a bit of money for these guys...

Enndé tourist camp.: The village of Bogolans.
The camp is the “rendez-vous” of tourists coming in the region by bicycle (yes…!) and 4WD.
Very good tourist camp. Almost modern !
The speciality of the village is Bogolan: all its walls are covered with these fabrics. Nice to see!

The roofs...: On the terraces...
All tourist camps offer rooms. But they are rather dark… and very warm.
We always preferred sleeping on the terraces: a bit of fresh air during the night, and the marvellous sky…
Almost fresh air during the night.
Marvellous sky.
Light of the early morning…
Mosquito net needed (actually in the rooms as well !)

Daniel's tourist camp of Beniouma.: On the rocks...
Very good place. The owner, Daniel, is a funny guy and his wife a good cooker.
Don't make mistake: despite his name, he's a pure Dogon... but he is half Christian, half Animist !
Good food, fresh drinks, very pleasant atmosphere with visits of people of the village. Very good place to meet local people.

Tourist camp of Douentza.: Along the road...
Tourist camp at Douentza. Tourists camps are basic (sometimes even less than basic…!) but they are always clean (dusty of course, but how could it be different?) and the owners are very friendly: good places to meet locals.
Very good camp at Douentza.
Comfortable, clean and good food.
For the night, you have the choice between bedrooms, terrace or tents.
Only inconvenient: it’s on the side of the big road Bamako Gao which means that it’s a bit noisy. Choose the bedrooms which are more silent.
