Honeymoon June 2006 - Ploease Help :(

Hi!

I need your urgent help please!

We still havent decided where to go on honeymoon. Our travel agent suggested Mauritius - Veranda Hotel. Can you send us your reviews about this hotel please? I read that the cost of living is quite high if you go out to restarants...is this so? Can you give me some prices....like what is the price for a good fish meal there?

Also, what is the nightlife there? We like to go out in the evenings for a drink and to listen to good music...our travel agent suggested we stay at Grand Baie for this reason. Can you give me some info on this please??

Grand Baie is always a good choice. We prefer to stay in that area. Lots of shops, restaurants etc. Good beaches in the area. We like Perybere not to far from Grand Baie. There are also many boattrips departing from Grand Baie to the islands as well as fishing, snorkelling and glass bottom boats.

Enjoy Mauritius it is lovely.

Sorry, can't help you with your query about the hotel. But definitely second Cleocat's recommendation - Grand Baie is the nicest, livelist spot on the island. Crowded with little restaurants, clubs and shops. And by Mauritian standards, the nightlife goes on much later into the night here :) Also, don't forget to check out Mon Choisy beach as well, right next door. The restaurant prices, as they cater mostly to tourists, ARE steep - easily expect to pay between 1500-2000 Mauritian rupees for a seafood meal for 2 with alcohol. If you're still open to hotel suggestions, do check out Trou - Aux - Biche, it's very popular with honeymooners. Have a fantastic time :-) Siddharth

The town has everything for the tourist, from trendy boutiques to craft shops. There are a plenty of restaurants, night-clubs and discotheques. Accommodation varies from Hotels to self-catering bungalows.

"Beautiful sea"

It is now the main centre for yachting, water-skiing, wind surfing and other water sports.

"Stunning views"

The beach itself curves into the bay at Grand Baie. It is excellent for sailing, wind surfing, water skiing and swimming.
