The Caudan watterfront
by Klod5
The old harbor of Port-Louis, the capital, to undergo a radical transformation : rats and rusty cans, eviscerated, in the stink that the heat made with difficulty tolerable, let place at one very pleasant seafront. One will certainly regret to have offered the place to them "merchants of the temple" but the evolution is all the same real.
Singapore Airlines
by victorwkf
Coming from Singapore, I was surprised to see a signboard of Singapore Airlines (perhaps this is their office) in Port Louis, even though the airlines have stopped flying from Singapore to Mauritius.
Traffic Policemen

During the morning and evening traffic jam hours, you can see traffic policemen stationed at the various roundabouts and road junctions leading to Port Louis, controlling the traffic to ensure that the jam do not get worse.

I always felt perfectely safe in Mauritius
by globetrott
I really always felt perfectely safe in Mauritius, no beggars in the streets, no scams and pickpockets, friendly people where-ever I went, even in some lousy sidestreets, that might have been a problem to walk trough in other parts of the world.
Mauritius seems to be a good place to live, for me it might be too hot there, but there was also mostly some nice wind, so the heat was bearable.
