Auberge de la Montagne: Auberge de la Montagne
We didnt stay her but we really enjoyed a marvellous lunch here and had the great pleasure to meet Francoise Baptiste and his lovley wife.
This chambre d hote in the hills at Grand Montagne is a beautiful place to stay in or just having a meal, a wonderful garden around the hose, and greatwievs. this must be one of the better choises at Rodrigues, its quite cheap and has beautiful rooms, and its half board.
Francoise Baptise is a famous chef and has written a exellent book about Rodriguan delices.
It is close to everything on the island, and just like at Claudines, they can arrange everything.
Francoise and his wife knows just everything you need on the island.

Chez Claudine: Recommended by Lonley Planet
Located at the east of the Island makes it a good base for hiking and a lot of other things, Tours and most every activity you can ask for is provided by Claudine, bikerental,motos,etc..
Claudine serves delicious dinner at 19 every night, (Halfpension), perfect breakfasts, in a homestay environment, at first we stayed in a room in the Villa at the picture, then we moved to a Bungalow. It was perfect, almost no cars, only the music from the waves bring you to sleep every night, a big beach is in front of the Villa and the Bungalows, but it was a bit windy during our stay at this side of the Island
Its simply fantastic calm, we slept like babies. Breakfast and dinner is served in front of the house, something like a veranda with a long table, where the guest easy can talk about their exoeriences on the Island, and grill at the end. Chez Claudine also serves food like any other restaurant you can find on the Island, book in advance!

Mourouk Ebony Hotel: Come back Home
An exquisite experience awaits you at Mourouk Ebony. The people make the difference at this accomodation. The mood is warm and intimate, service is efficient (less the service time required for meals!). If available, you would want to book yourself the suite which has a private jacuzzi and pool and 3 rooms in a chalet-style accomodation. The suite sits right on the beach front and u have access to BBQ facilities with a long table for a nice family meal!
Otherwise the regular rooms suffice for the kind of experience you wld want in Rodrigues - that is extremely laid back and unwound. You are encouraged not to engage in city-life activities. You room will not have a tv or a phone, which is just great cos there's so much to be done outdoors. There's a great water sports club that allows u to windsurf, kitesurf, surf, and dive. you can even rent a motorbike. When the day is done, grab a digestive with one of the staff and settle to good conversation. From Mourouk Ebony, anything can happen. Being there is all you need.

Because the hotel is built on a spur along the beach, you can enjoy both the sunrise and sunset views which are simply stunning.

Hotel Mourouk Ebony: La case Creole
This 30 bedrooms hotel has a three star rating. It has a cozy restaurant, lounge and bar. At night you get to meet the other tourists and personnel- there is only one TV in the lounge and the night movie turns into a meeting place.
The afternoon nap in the sun, in front of the pool, after diving or swimming is just...wow, very nice...
