hotel agadir
by JamalMorelli about hotel agadir
!50 DH in Fes - I'll suggest Hotel Agadir in Fes Jdid.
1) get in cab
2) tell them "bab semmareen - fes jedeed"
3) ask your taxi if they know "hotel agadir" - if not, get out at bab semmareen - giant castle ports - don't go inside.
4) ask a local store nearby "hotel agadir?"
5) it is just a few steps from the bab semmareen
It is the cheapest, safest (in regards to the staff, anyway) and most reliable place that comes to mind - though others may have more suggestions. hotel agadir
Hotel Agadir and the Edge of Fes
by JamalMorelli about Hotel Agadir
If you want a totally safe base hotel in one of the more overlooked parts of Fes - Fes Jdid - you can't do better than Hotel Agadir. Karim and his wife rock. Views from his terrace are beautiful at dawn. The energy is totally wild here. The hotel is just across from Bab Smaraine. Human traffic and noise levels are fairly constant. You will be in an absolute minority as a tourist in this area. It just works.
But listen, the whole area has a real late night Bronxy edge to it, so I can only recommend this place for adventurers and folks fit enough to take care of themselves. I stayed here for two months at one point and put myself on a fast track to learning about Morocco...
Morocco's Best Hotel
by roxy-surfer-gurl about Sheraton Hotel Agadir
A clean hotel that I had a wonderful stay at. Good service. Adjacent to the bay of Agadir. Fine golden sand beach, stretching as far as the eye can see, warmed by the African sun and sparkling blue waters of the Atlantic.
Sheltered by the Cape Ghir headland and protected by surrounding foothills of the Atlas mountains, Agadir has over 300 days of sunshine. Babysitting, Entertainment Massage Therapist, Multi-Lingual Staff, Night Club, Beauty Shop, Handicap Accessible Rooms/Facilities, Fitness Room, Tennis, Ping Pong, Sauna, Boccia, Volley Ball, Outdoor Heated Pool, Children's Pool, Car Rental, City Transfer, etc.

Shops/Stores around Hotel Club Al Moggar Garden Beach
by cambridgedj
Will be heading into Agadir for a few days before continuing on to Marrakech. Was curious if I should get a swimsuit before I leave or if there are shops near/next to the hotel that sell them. Would like to support the Moroccan economy. What type of clothing shops are around the area?
Thanks!

There are a few exclusive shops (Zara) at the marina complex which is just a few minutes walk from your hotel.
Elsewhere are shops along Avenue Tawada close by, on the beach front next to hotel Tafoukt or Uniprix (fixed price market) on Ave Hassan II.
Not sure you will be supporting the Moroccan economy as even with the low wages in Morocco, China seems to be expoting more and more into Morocco; jewelry being just one example.

john,
Thanks for such a speedy reply. This helps greatly. I assume one of these shops should have mens swimwear and sunblock/tan lotion?
Many thanks

Bring your own swimwear, I have never seen anything of quality or in the right size in regular shops, Better quality ones are more expensive than in Europe.
Sunblock can be found everywhere.

I agree about the quality of clothing in generalal unless tailor-made.
I got a bit burned a few years ago and went round trying to find a good price for sun block (spf 50 min) but everywhere was around £13 for 200mL of Ambre Solair including chemists and Uniprix; bought it at the safer option of Marjane which is a large Euro-style supermarket just on the outskirts of the tourist area for the equivalent of about £10.00 (GBP).
Morocco - Al Moggar Garden Beach Club Hotel - Agadir

Hi all
I was wondering if anyone has been to the above hotel and what it is like.
We want to go somewhere different this year, rather than the usual Cyprus, Spain etc.
Any info on the hotel or the resort would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Jo
