Loved the Riu, tikida beach
by TripAdvisor Member burtob
Apart from the room not being ready when we arrived at 3pm I can't fault this Hotel. The rooms we very spacious and clean, the staff were very friendly and the food in the main restaurant was excellent, something for all tastes. The wine was drinkable. We will definitely be going back again.

just got back from 1 week love agadir very clean friendly place to go cheap safe to walk around even at night.the hotel is just off the beach swimming pool is heated the cleaning staff are great rooms cleaned every day left my camera out and it was still there when i came back.the bar staff very friendly but this hotel is not a 4 star, 3 at very best the food was terrible tripe ect there was flies on the pasta even flees on the mashed potatoes room service was only avible at a price or you were French/German ask for a bottle of wine to take to the room and drink to sit with my food poisoned wife the bar manger just said no and that was it .the reception staff only speak pigeon English so when i asked were the jacuzzi was no one could tell me were it was for 2 days. This hotel is more for french people than english when my wife was ill we watched tv in the room 15 channels only 2 in english bbc news and cnn. Met some very nice people Tony and Violet had some great food in agadir its self is just over 10gbp for 3 off us bit thats not what you want in an all inclusive hotel i will go back to agadir but not this hotel and its a shame the staff try hard but i dont want to stay in a 3 star i have traveled all over the world and i know what 4 star is and this is nowhere near
No poverty on the beach but...
by matcrazy1
Poverty is a serious problem all over Morocco but not seen in Agadir, especially on and close to a beach full of foreign visitors. I stayed at a hotel located close to CTM bus station where I discovered different world full of average, poor locals waiting for a bus or sleeping on a street day and night.
Each day I drove to a beach and I parked my car at a parking lot of a fancy hotel - El Tikida Beach Agadir. And each day very nice, smiling local, parking guard asked me whether to wash my car. First day I agreed and when I came back my car was perfectly clean. When I paid him (only $2 or so) the guy looked unbelievably happy, started to dance with my money and promised me to clean a car next day for free. And he did it!
I surely knew that most Moroccans were very poorly paid and that their immigration to Europe for economic reasons is quite large.
Bars/Nightclubs
by girladventure
Clubs I've been to:
Marrakech: The city's most popular nightclub is Paradise at the Hotel Pullman Mansour Edhabi. Tel: + (212) 4 448 222
Agadir: The happening spot in Agadir is Papagayo Night Club, located in the Tikida Beach Hotel. Tel: + (212) 48 845 400
Boulevard Du 20 Aout offers a number of restaurants, bars with local live bands, etc.
Casablanca: The hottest spot in Casablanca is Vanity. It's pretty hard to find, but it is right near the Ain Diab district.
Rick's Bar at the Hotel Hyatt Regency in Casablanca is also fun with its Casablanca memorabilia and costumed staff. For the clubs I listed above, dress to impress. For most clubs and bars, whatever suits you.
Really great time!

Our holidays in Riu Tikida Beach last year 2005 on December.
Everything was excellent!!! Spacious clean rooms, very friendly and warm staff, excellent food 24 hour per day. Will remember it as one of our favourite holidays destinations.
Excellent holiday

Choosing Riu Tikida beach was an inspired choice for a two week holiday.
Above average food and great variation
Excellent service both during meals and at reception/bar
Good quality rooms, spacious and clean
Enough activities to keep us entertained for two weeks
I have nothing bad to say about the hotel at all. Give it a try - i've stayed at other Riu hotels before and am always impressed
Congratulations to the Staff

We have just returned from a two week holiday. Having spent years travelling all over the world we feel able to comment.
The hotel was first class and all the facilities were excellent. We were initially oncerned at being all inclusive but the standard and variety of food was exceptional for both luch and dinner, coupled with ther rose' wine.
We had a two day trip to Marrakesh and it certainly highlighted the quality of the Riu Tikida Beach.
All the staff were efficient and friendly and helped to make our holiday enjoyable. We will certainly return to this hotel when we revisit Moracco. Congratulations to the management and staff.
A jewel in Morrocco
by TripAdvisor Member maxmum
We have just returned from our first trip to Agadir,Morrocco.Having travelled extensively, we were a little apprehensive about staying in an all inclusive hotel as usually we have bed and breakfast choosing to eat out locally. If you are looking for a quick week in the sun, just for rest and relaxation then the Rui Tikida beach would suit you well. The hotel was full of french travellers and you did at times feel a little neglected. However a tip here and there did help. There were plenty of beds both on the beach and around the pool, together with towels which were provided. The staff in the diningroom were very efficient, providing plenty of wine with meals, which was not bad.Although there was plenty of food to suit most taste and all hot or chilled correctly it did after a few days become a little monotonous. We would have liked a little more spicy food but thats just a matter of taste. The hotel was extremely well cleaned and we had no problems with hygiene.Although we realize Agadir only provided us with a snapshop of Morrocco we feel we found a good hotel for what we wanted.
"Disappointing Holiday"
by TripAdvisor Member MrsTMT
We stayed here for two weeks at the begining of September and this was our first ever visit to Morocco and a Riu hotel.
First impression of the hotel when we arrived was good as it was clean and well presented inside. Our room was only just being finished when we walked through the door, but we were one of the lucky ones as some had to wait four hours for their room to be ready.
We felt very out numbered by the French as other reviews have stated and found them rude and very unfriendly. The staff most definitely favoured the French. Most of the food and entertainment is geared to the French.
The food generally was very good and quite alot of choice but be careful as lots are under cooked and the Fish Restaurant is covered in flies.
By the fourth day I was very ill and had to have the doctor out at 4.15am, yes now I know why the rep tells you about him!!
After an injection for the severe stomach pain I was then on 15 tablets a day for 7 days and down £50. I have to give credit to the night staff who were fantastic and went and collected the pills during the night and could not have done more to help.
I was one of many in the hotel who was ill, thats all the conversation was during the day "who else had fallen ill".
The beach is really lovely with no shingle just sand and very clean. It is patroled by the police all day so sellers do not hassle you too much.
We went in to Agadir looking for a few shops and restaurants but there really is not much there, so if you are going all inclusive and are thinking of getting out for a few meals forget it, you will be disappointed.
Having returned home we will remember this holiday for the good weather and friendly Moroccans but will not be going back, if you are going to this hotel it is lovely but be prepared to be very ill. Hope this helps you make your choice.
Had a great stay
by TripAdvisor Member universal-traveller
Some of the existing reviews made us slightly aprehensive but we had a really great relaxing stay. The staff were extremely polite and helpful, perhaps the fact that I am disabled had some bearing. I must admit that the many steps around the hotel were a slight problem but the staff did everything possible to help. Contary to other reviews we found the French guests to be utterly charming and we had great fun trying out our somewhat "fractured" brand of their language just as they enjoyed practicing their "English". It was a most enjoyable break and one we would very much like to repeat
