Looking for Apartment in Agadir

by Arif1

I am visiting Agadir in middle of Nov for 2 weeks and would like to rent a flat for that period. I would prefer it to be in Centre of town/not far from it.
Please let me know if you know any individuals/agencies who rent out flats on short term basis.
Thanking you in advance.
Arif

I know a lady (British) who has an apartment in Talborjt, slightly away from the touristy part but easy to get to on foot and a great place to explore, close to the souk.
She will only rent to a family and not singles; if interested get in touch and I will give her details.

Travel Tips for Agadir

Apartments, rental cars and beach buggys

by khattabi_eg

I could add one bit of info here and that is, with the budget you mentioned for renting an appartment, you could actually opt for a residence hotel. You will have a fully equipped apartment to yourselves and also have access to the pool you wanted. So you get the best of the two worlds. Somewhere like Hotel Residence Intourist comes to mind now, but there are many others.
Rental cars are widely available, you only need to know where the best places to rent are and how to haggle as mentioned in the previous post.
For a period of over a week or two I can get a decent car, like Renault Clio, Renault Kangoo or Peugeot Partner that even run on diesel so that means less money spent on fuel. And of course, with air-conditioning, a CD player and all other options, plus all risk insurance for 300 Dirhams a day!
As far as I know, the beach buggy can be rented for individuals but they usually rent them for like an hour or two and not a half or a whole day.
Enjoy your time in Morocco, you will have a good time this time ! :)

My first ever parasailing!

by matcrazy1

I saw parasailing many times before and you could easily find me among spectators of starting and landing parasailers on many European, Tunisian and Turkish beaches.

But after long instructions of my lovely wife and short ones of a parasailing guy I did it for the first time just in Agadir and it was great experience, worth the cost... twice less than in Spain, two weeks before. I took great movie in the air :-) and landed quite good as for the first time (kind opinion of anonymous spectators of my landing :-). If you travel with your husband/wife or parents add that they may worry about your safety in the air :-).

CoL de Kerdous to and from Tafroute

by angiebabe

Nestled in the picturesque area that is the Ameln Valley of pink mountains, berber villages and peaceful and fertile valleys with palmeraie is the village of Tafroute, tucked away in the Anti Atlas.

Tafroute is 107 km from Tiznit or 198 km from Agadir - both routes have striking scenery making it worthwhile to create a circuit that incorporates the three.

In between Tiznit and Tafroute the roads winds up to the pass of Col de Kerdous at 1100m - with the four star Hotel Kerdous, once a kasbah, perched right on the pass.
With stunning views over mud brick berber villages looking precarious on the sides of the hills, cactus plants and cultivated terraces - to even more stunning views from the top at Kerdous, especially looking back towards Tiznit.

During February and early March the almond trees that grow prolifically around Tafroute are in bloom adding even more colour and beauty to the route.

African championship in English style

by sachara about English Pub

There are so many bars and restaurants in Agadir, that you can't visit them all. Usually I go to the Moroccan ones or at least the ones with a Moroccan touch. But when we visited Agadir in january 2008 it was during the African soccer championships and Morocco was playing. So our last afternoon we met Hassan he liked to see the match Morocco-Namibia .

The only place we knew where you could watch the game was the English Pub in the touristy area. They had many wide screens indoors. It turned out to be a nice place with a terrace, cosy seats and some high tables. You can not only have a drink, but also all kind of snacks and meals. By the way Morocco won !

View from the Kasbah

by sachara

Even if you are not interested in old ruined buildings, it´s worth to go uphill for the nice views at Agadir, the town and the beach. You have also a good overview of the area of the harbour and the shipyard with the ocean at the background.

At sunday afternoon lots of Moroccan families, but also tourists came uphill for the views, to enjoy the seabreeze and some for a camelride.

From the top of the hill I had a good view of the new complex of villas which is built between the beach and the harbour. It looks like very expensive housing. Everytime I come back in Agadir I see a lot of changes concerning new buldings, apartments and hotels. In 2007 the upgrading and construction of the boulevards along the beaches were in process by huge works over several KMs.
