supratours travels on that route and they are the best bus company in morocco.
i travelled on both CTM and supratours when i was there in november and they were both ok, but supratours has the best busses.

Hello Kellyly,
The Supratour bus leaves from near Bab Marrakech at 6.00am, 11.00am, 2.30pm and 6pm. You should buy your ticket in advance to be sure of getting a seat and be at the station at least 15 minutes before the bus departs. The price is 65Dh one way + 5Dh for each piece of luggage that you put in the hold. The journey takes 3 hours including a 20 minute tea stop.
Have a nice trip........

Have never used Supratours in Morocco but they are very popular with travellers, I only have used CTM buses which are just as good & popular aswell.

If coming or going from Marrakech you will find CTM has moved near to the train station and has a bigger place for their own buses and they no longer stop at the main bus station anymore. you can get taxis or minivans from here aswell but it is a good 15 - 20 minute walk to the Medina maybe abit more. Supratours office is also by the train station.

I travelled to Essaouira from Marrakech their and back several times and find their is 1 bus in the morning from Marrakech and from Essaouira, for some strange reason they only had 1 bus going in late in the afternoon at 5.15pm. journey time is about 3hrs with one stop.

Checkout what times they go with Supratours in Essaouira.

lookout for the sheep in the trees on this route.

Travel Tips for Essaouira

The port chart

by JLBG

The Atlantic Ocean is often rough and the wind permanent (trade winds) but the harbor is very well sheltered by the Purpuraire Islands and by several jetties. The two main activities are shipbuilding and fishing.

Goat-Trees

by Leipzig

Driving eastwards you come along such trees and, believe it or not, on the boughs of the tree are jumping goats. Amazing! This is because during the summer month it hardly rains in Morocco and gras doesn't grow. Leaves are the best alternative to the yellow strawy gras.

Bar on the beach " Surf's Up"

by windcity about LAWAMA

Perched on a cliff top Lawarma offers local and European food, Very tasty and not overpriced for the remote location. The beach at Moulay Bouzerktoun is popular with surfers and can be easily reached by taxi from Essaouira , Sunset is a good time for a drink in the bar. Fresh Fish, afterall it is caught by local fishermen and you can watch the daily catch as it is brought in at the tiny harbour below the restaruant.

Camel riding

by Veroali

An atraction for tourists to buy a trip to ride camels. The way is around the river and sea and it takes one hour. There are many camels every day on the beach. If you just walk on the beach, probably some owner of a camel will ask you, if you wanna ride. I guess it was 120 DH, but agree the price. There are also horses, but we dont know about it more.

Capture the Imaginations of Local Children

by pabertra

One of the coolest things to do while you travel is to interact with the local children. I spied these children playing in an alley below a hostel window and managed to catch their attention. I made a paper airplane and sent it flying out the window towards them and they had a blast flying it around and trying to get it back into the window to me. It is just amazing how simple things can bring a smile to these poverty ridden children.
