Fixing the nets
by JLBG
Fishermen are fixing their nets for next sailing. After each fishing session, they have to remove the algae and, more important, to mend any part of the net that might have been teared. The flags will allow knowing where the nets have been launched.
Lively old streets

The lively streets of Essaouira had a touch of not changing for years, at least in my opinion. It was absolutely interesting!
Essaouira seemed to be quite conservative city. Women were more veiled than in other cities like Tangier, Rabat or Casablanca. Be careful whenever you want to take pictures of women's faces. It's a sin for traditional Muslim females or they just don't like it.
Do It In Moroccan Style
by earthflyer
Here's a good tip if you're with a group and want to eat cheap.
Do your own shopping first.
Buy fresh meat from the Butcher on the street and vegtables take them to a small local Moroccan Restuarant and ask them to cook it for you and you will have an excellent meal.
For the 3 of us the meal cost no more than 100dirham and all 3 of us was stuffed to the rim afterwards.
Excellent.

Ports have this special atmosphere....they are gates to the water world....Fishing is a major industry, as the ocean provides all sorts of weird creatures - yellow sharks with dots, octopussses, tint fish, and many others that I dont know the names of....
Place Moulay Hassan
by suvanki
This square is a pleasant place to enjoy a drink or meal, it's also a good spot for people watching!
Although I wasn't there at night, I should imagine it's a popular spot for wining/dining.
At lunchtime, the squares cafes were starting to fill. Berber musicians were playing around the square, near the cafes. There are a few souvenir stands/kiosks in the square, and the roads leading off had a variety of craft shops
UPDATE
This visit, our hotel (Beau Rivage)was in this Square! My room overlooked it, so although it was noisy, I didn't find it too bad - The early morning call to prayer however, was probably the longest I've ever heard, and sounded strangely distorted too!
