Still busy and no fish yet
by JLBG
I finally asked a guy. He explained me that they sold most of their fishing to large boats which operate from the nearby Canary islands and bring it to the Canaries, where the numerous hotels need a great amount of fish and pay well.
Branch of an argan tree
by JLBG
The fruits can be seen clearly on this close-up picture. They are light green and look like young olives. This is what the goats are looking for when they climb in the argan trees. At this point, they do not contain any oil.
Outside Essaouira

When you're outside Essaouira, you find some places that are worth to be seen after you see almost everything inside the city. The pictures I put there are of the Kadi Eeyad University and a mosque that really looks beautiful.
The ramparts on a cliff coast
by matcrazy1
What are the ramparts in Essaouira? A large wall built round a town to protect it? Yes, but they are placed between the city and the Atlantic Ocean on a cliff coast as well.
So it's double attraction: the ramparts themselves and the amazing views over the ocean and the cliffs. And it was the most lively area of a city during day, I think. I could watch people there: both natives - mainly youths during lunch break (haha, some most brave of them were jumping to the ocean from the ramparts) and some (but not very many in October) tour groups. Charming narrow street running parallel to the ramparts is a must see.
