I stayed here during our group tour (with Exodus travel), staying for one night. It was a relief to have a bed for the night. as my previous nights accommodation had been a mattress in a tent in the Sahara desert (near Zagora, following a 2 hour camel ride). Please visit my Zagora page for more info about this experience Good service - although the staff are not over friendly, they are quite helpful. Bring your own drinks (wine/ beer etc ) and they'll keep them cool in their fridge to enjoy with your meal. (We'd bought our drinks in a supermarket in Ouarzazate earlier in the day) My room was OK for a nights stay - Bed, TV, storage space, air con. Bathroom with WC, shower, wash basin. Decorative painted room door from the corridor. View of opposite room window/wall from my window, across a narrow gap wasn't too great, but I was hardly in my room, apart from sleeping.
Great view of Ait Benhaddou from the terraces. Lovely to watch the sun set from here! Traditional Moroccan style 'courtyard' with fountain and rooms surrounding it off the lobby area. Comfortable lounge areas/ TV lounge. Swimming Pool - I didn't try this out, but those who did said it was quite cold - early morning! I'm sure it would be lovely during the hot and sunny summer months.- changing facilities / loos poolside. Apparently non- guests can use the pool for 30dh Breakfast eaten on upper terrace overlooking Ait Benhaddou- was a nice setting, as the sun started to warm up. We'd also enjoyed a drink up here after our evening meal. (BYO beer wine etc - duty free or from supermarkets in Marrakech/ Ouarzazate etc for a sundowner/ night cap) Theme: HotelPhone: 044 890302 fx 044883787Directions: Next door to Auberge el- Ouidane, overlooking Ait Benhaddou.

Stayed here about 3 years ago and last year visited again on recommendations of Moroccan friends to park there away from all the hustle of the touts that spy out for tourists arriving at the usual entrance to Ait Ben Haddou - and to have a good carpark to park in! The management didnt mind at all using their carpark to park in and so we walked up along the river finding paths as we went along the mounded crop growing areas and then through the village and across the river to the main attraction the Kasbahs of Ait Ben Haddou. By the time we got back we were pretty hot and didnt mind the idea of having coffee and orange juice and at the same time giving them some patronage. We got taken right around behind the auberge area that i had known from the previous visit to their new swimming pool where there were some table sitting areas under shade. Around here were also new rooms for accommodation. We got shown and they look very satisfactory for recommendations and if i was to be looking for somewhere to stay at any other time.
Prices are still lower than the upper priced for tour tourists around the village - with choice of staying in the original rooms with communal toilets and showers or in the new rooms with ensuites for about £20-£30 for two. Plus this place has a good sized pool as well. Being on the 'outskirts' of the main touristy area means theres no builtup buildings infringing on the nice views out to the surrounding countryside. It had been a long, hot day on our drive from the Dades Valley so we fancied staying somewhere nice in Ait Benhaddou. Our first choice was Hotel le Kasbah, one of the more expensive places in the town, which I think we chose because of its pool. When we called the hotel from Ouazazarte there were no vacancies so we tried Hotel la Baraka instead. I’m glad we got this one instead as it was a friendly place, the rooms were nice and it was cheaper and much quieter than Le Kasbah. We had a choice of a double room for 150 or demi pension (room + dinner and breakfast) for 150 each. As there wasn’t too much in Ait Ben Haddou outside the hotels we chose the latter. Our room was ensuite and had nice views of the Kasbah which was about 5 minutes walk away. The guys running the hotel were very friendly and the meals were great, server in a tent outside the front of the hotel. Swim With A View by Sean1901 A good quality if rather basic hotel. It's certainly the best bet for accomodation in Ait Ben Haddou.
However, it's swimming pool is what sets this hotel apart from the others. It has stunning views across the dried up river bed to the kasbah - the perfect spot for sundowners. The pool is clean, but even on the hottest days it is invigoratingly freezing. Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averagePhone: 044 890 302/08

Many hotels in the new part by johnsakura You dont really have to worry eather you have hotel or not. There are so many hotels in the village's neww part, maybe 5 minutes walk from the river where you pass to reach the fortified village. You have fancy expensive hotels and also cheap one, with view to the village.

by iwys The 3 * Hotel La Kasbah is the most luxurious hotel in Ait Benhaddou. It even has airconditioned rooms and a swimming pool. I stayed just round the corner from it, but I must say it looked very nice. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: most expensivePhone: 044 89 03 02

by globetrott There is a nice campground just opposite of the old town of Ait Ben Haddou. We did not stay there but I could see it when passing by.
Like in many other campingsites all over Maroc, there were women waiting to do the washing for the tourists and they do a perfect job when doing the washing in the traditional way without any kind of machines, just putting soap on the cloth and rubbing it again and again with a brush. It is even also great fun to watch them ! Theme: Campground

La Baraka is a good budget hotel. I paid DH250 for a double room, half board, but only a few of the rooms have fans, so it could be very hot staying here in the summer months. The rooms at the back have a good view of the town, and you can get even better views from the rooftop. Theme: HotelPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than average

view at the kasbah by sachara If you spend the night in Ait Ben Haddou, choose a hotel with a view at the kasbah like Hotel la Kasbah. The first time in Ait Ben Haddou we stayed in the Auberge nextdoor to this hotel. From the window of our room and the terrace we had a splendid view at the kasbah. Especially at sunset or sunrise it is nice to sit there and see the changing of colours of the red coloured kasbah, while drinking your tea. The picture is taken from the terrace of our Auberge. Ensuite rooms, with balcony over large swimming pool and outdoor area - would be great in summer! - and long upper patio area to relax in. This hotel is visited for lunches in a big way. The tagine we had at night was rather good! Handy to the Ait Benhaddou complex of old kabahs and fortifications - just a few minutes walk.
