Chez Amrani: Auberge and Restaurant Anmiter

Ask for very helpful Abderrazah for info. Visit for coffee, meals, accommodation - camping which is available down here at this first building and auberge accommodation which is on the hill in a nicer building - berber entertainment or mule rides or guided walk up to the Tamda lakes etc.

Situated in a beautiful valley - Anmiter - the oasis and village with old kasbahs and beautiful river and vegetation are behind the hill behind the auberge - but surrounded by hills with stunning scenery along the way to get there from the main road from Marrakech - or the 4 wheel drive road from Ait Benhaddou. (or its a stunning 2 day walk from there!)

The bus from Marrakech finishes and starts from here, and there are frequent minibuses through the day between Telouet and Anmiter (its a nice 11km walk though) - you can go visit the Glaoui's principal kasbah at Telouet and the Thusday souk for the day or a few hours and return to Anmiter - or linking up with grande taxis from Ouarzazate.

Can be very cold in winter but in the heat of summer being up at higher altitudes than places such as Marrakech and Ouarzazate its cooler too - but its a lovely peaceful area with some great scenery.
Good base for the one day walk up to Tamda lakes or 7 days circuit to Tessaout or through to Mgouna, or two days to Ait Benhaddou etc!!

GREAT NEWS - THE LONG-TIME HEAVY GOING PISTE 4X4 ROAD HAS BEEN UPGRADED AND BITUMENED AND THE ROAD IS A DELIGHT!! DO TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DRIVE THE ROAD THROUGH TO AIT BENHADDOU! ESPECIALLY IN FEBRUARY WHEN THERE ARE ALMOND BLOSSOMS ALL THE WAY! A STOP AT KASBAH TAMDAGHT IS WELL WORTH IT TOO - ALMOST BETTER THAN AIT BENHADDOU WHERE ALMOST A STOP AT THE VIEWPOINT FOR A LOOK OVER TO THE KSAR COMPLEX IS ALMOST ENOUGH|!!
