situated in a very pretty and tranquil spot above a fertile valley next to the ruins of the Glaoui Kasbah.

Accommodation is basic but comfortable - no ensuite but the bathroom is over the corridor with good shower. more rooms and rooms with ensuites are being planned.

the rooms are cheap and good breakfasts are available. they also have a good menu for lunch and dinner though a bit expensive but good cooks, including fish dishes with a little notice and specialty tagines to the locality.

Great spot to sit in the sun or the shade and enjoy coffee or a freshly squeezed orange juice (10 dirham) or fruit smoothie concoction (25 dirham), or a meal with even better views from the roof - overlooking the valley below or the palace ruins the other direction.

nice grounds belonging to the kasbah, once its gardens, and up the valley for roaming around.

Great views, pleasant staff. Low price rooms.
Handy to the beautiful but deteriorating Kasbah next door and its grounds and gardens.

Nice walking around the valley below and good base for the area with a salt mine further up the road from Telouet to Anmiter, also good walks from Tighza just north of anmiter to the Tamda lakes, interesting side route for walking or driving along another valley that turns off to Tasgha.

The drive, or walk, to this place is very scenic following a huge valley looking down to vege gardens and riverbed stones making lots of colours, with villages and kasbahs along the way to until you arrive at the lovely spot of the Tasga auberge. In a private spot under huge walnut trees the place is run by one of the most hospitable families i have met - the restaurant is interestingly decorated and very clean - especially the bathrooms - they cater for large numbers of 4x4 tours that stop there for lunches.
They have a large camping area and 3 double rooms for comfortable but basic overnight accommodation and a large and rather romantic area for sittting out around the bedouin tents under the walnut trees and small babbling brook running through!!
lovely spot for sitting and enjoying coffee.
    rather special spot!

as above - secluded but very pretty and great with the brook running through. the family running it are particularly hospitable and friendly .
excellent spot for being away from it all and for great walks - down around the berber villages to Telouet or up to Anmiter taking you past interesting earth colours in the hills, a salt mine and the oasis valleys around Anmiter up to Tighza.

Managed by a local family Hassan and his wife, Ive loved staying in this place and having had friends go stay here too on trips Ive organised and hear back that theyve also enjoyed the peace and great hospitality that Hassan and his wife offer.

Meals are available if required - its not necessarily a Bed and Breakfast as it is self contained with your own internal kitchen - but certainly take opportunity of excellent cooking if you wish. All at an excellent price so if you are on a budget then you will be very happy with the value and service here.

In a central location being in the centre of town just behind the souk/main market where its all happening on the main souk day on Thursdays and the animal soukday on Wednesdays. And yet its peaceful and quiet up here and safe behind a perimeter fence and security doors.

Hassan and his family live in a subdivided part of the house adjoining the accommodation.

Telouet is in an excellent area for scenic and historical walks such as around the Glaoui kasbah and up to Tasgha and Hassan is often available to guide or arrange any guides that you might need for hikes up into the mountains such as to the Tamda Lakes from Anmiter or Tighza.

A 2 storey accommodation building has since been built providing rooms as a whole group such that were there at the moment - hiking around various routes around the valley - or highly likely they were also one of Jacqui's yoga groups - or when vacancies available for individual bookings as well.

go straight to Hassan where he lives and manages these delightful places to stay right in the centre of town up behind the souk/market place - take no notice of anyone if you ask them directions to Jacqui's house telling you something like the place has closed down so that they can direct you to their own gains.

    Central but peaceful spot.

You have all options here - camping ground or auberge accommodation - you can pay a pittance to camp or pay a bit more if you dont want to rough it.

Abderrazah runs this place and is extremely helpful and hospitable. You could hire a guide to take you up to the Tamda Lakes for a 5-7 hour return trip (5 hours by donkey which you could hire here) or many other nice walks around here - to the salt mines, to Tasgha or use this place to stay the night before the two day walk to Ait BenHaddou.

Here youre at the end of the road - its the end of the bus route from Marrakech (departure time from there changed recently ?1.30 instead of 2.3pm - leaves from Anmiter about 6-6.30 am to return to Marrakech) - its the continuation of the original road which goes on down to Ait BenHaddou but its 4x4 road.(unless youre both a local and know the road and a good driver you could then like us do it in a normal car Hamdillah and Inshallah!)

And here youre in another valley surrounded by hills and mountains, with a river stream where the women do their washing, where there are fields being cropped, and where the interesting and unusually well preserved old and historic fortified town of Anmiter is behind the hill that this auberge is at. You can go exploring here - well dont come all the way here without seeing it! - and you could also walk on up to Tighza about another hour away with berber villages built all along its winding road with superb scenery.
This is up in the mountains behind TizinTichka - so in the heat of summer its a cooler spot to be in - in winter its very cold. but beautiful!

This was such a funny place. We really liked it, but the management was a bit odd, and might be off-putting for some. It seemed to be run by a coterie of young men, all of whom were there at all times but whose actual duties were unspecified. For example, we weren't sure which ones had been the "guardien" of the car, so we didn't know who to tip. We were given a wonderful tour of the kasbah by a young man who was very informative and intelligent. His English was adequate to the task, and we had a lovely time. Then it seemed he was also the cook. He joined us unbidden for the latter part of the meal along with a couple of other guys, and then they carried on an animated conversation in Arabic to the point that we couldn't talk to each other at all! They seemed a bit disappointed when we bid a fairly hasty adieu after dinner. The same thing happened the next morning at breakfast. Just too much of a good thing.

At breakfast they also offered us, a bit repeatedly, several other tours. And they also gave us information about an Association set up for the benefit of the village, where we could send a donation after we got home if we wanted to.

The place was well priced at 200dh for two, including breakfast and dinner.

We were bowled over at our first glimpse of the hotel -- an imposing new stone structure with an unbeatable view of the Glaoui kasbah. They also had an older building, the original auberge, I think, and it didn't seem to be nearly as nice. We had booked by phone earlier in the day and we'd asked for one of the new rooms.

When we arrived we were warmly greeted with a cup of mint tea. Our room was on the roof and we loved it immediately. It had a toilet and sink ensuite, (with a high opening in the wall which linked to the toilet of the next room -- no secrets as to digestive functions!) and the showers were just across the roof. The room could have used a coat hook or two, and we were glad we had our own towels, but those are very small quibbles.

The dinner was very tasty, and the breakfast was OK.

The tour of the Kasbah was well worth doing, and if you're going to stay in Telouet at all, this is the place.
