Good Moderately Priced Hotel in Fes

by Paul2001 about Hôtel Mounia

After staying in some questionable hotels in Morocco and was mildly pleased the Hôtel Mounia. I think that for once I was getting my moneys worth. The staff here was very helpful and the hotel seemed to be popular with the bus tour set. There are good restaurants nearby. The hotel itself had a good restaurant. The bar was rather sleezy but this is common in Morocco. Women without male accompaniment may want to give the bar a pass.

nice location and great hospitality!

by bamboobay about al mounia

i strongly recommend this hotel, it's located in the middle of down town where you can walk to pretty much anywhere in the city of casablanca. most taxi drivers know where it is too so you don't have to draw a map or try to explain in your rotten french or anything! the room is very spacious, one bedroom contains a large bathroom, a satellite tv, a dresser, a cofee table a telephone, and a sofa. it also came with AC. very clean, but if you are expecting something that 5 star hotel would offer then don't go with this place. my room number was 806 on the 8th floor and had a breathtaking view of the city as well as the atlantic ocean. the service was excellent, the receptionists were the nicest and the most helpful people ever. the price for stay per night was around $60 during the winter season.

DO NOT GO THERE!

by Armin_B about Dar Mounia in Marrakech

We were there for Sylvester 2003/2004 and had to pay 900 DH EACH!!! but the drinks were not inclusive: 1 liter Coke 200 dirham! Only meat and Fish, NO side dishes, NO salads.

Very Tasteful

by Alexandra33 about Al Mounia

Great ambience, staff very nice and helpfull, beautifull garden for the summer nights and the food is really good and tasteful. Everything, from tagines to orange and cinamon for desert as well as for the red wine (Morocain).

Definitely the Maison d'hotes Mounia in Essaouira. It is wonderful: the best place I stayed anywhere in Morocco. Both the Ayoub Hotel and Hotel Ibis Moussafir in Marrakech are fine and well within your budget.
