I stayed at the Hotel Wassim...
I stayed at the Hotel Wassim which is in the Medina Nouvelle, or the modern city. It is a cozy 4 star hotel. It has a cute bar, a very good lunch, and you can get a room with half-board thus covering lunch or dinner.
One person in our group had something taken out of the room, but remarkably, and after much fussing, it re-appeared on the last day. So I would advise keeping yr. valuable with you.
I like the idea of staying in a locally-owned hotel, but some might prefer the Sheraton Fez which is just a block away from this.
For those really rolling in money, I would recommend trying the Dar El Ghalia, after our visit there, (see my restaurant entry).
This is for the Wassim - I think it equates to about
$69 a night if I remember correctly (for a double).
The Dar El-Ghalia seemed very expensive - but no rates are listed on its brochure,
