Modern City
by solopes
Casablanca is a large and modern city, where, once, someone made a film that, for reasons that I couldn't understand in the 97 times I saw it, became very famous.
If you are thinking in the film scenery, you may find a reconstructed bar, an area they say it was in the movie, and... that's it. If you want to meet Morocco, then the best you have is the airport and railway station.
But if you appreciate big and busy cities, then that's your place. And here and there, the real Morocco comes to surface.
The mosque again

King Hassan II wanted that his kingdom's main city had a monument important enough. Many resources has been used to build this enormous buildings and many many money spent, so money that some common people would have rathered were used to fight unemployment troubles for example.
Women and hospitality
by matcrazy1
I noticed that the natives always paid attention to foreign (white) tourists, especially Arab men to white alone women. Hmm... it seemed sometimes as they thought that travelling alone white women must look for some adventures with a man.
But generally they were very friendly, hospitable and they were looking for contacts with foreign tourists not only to make business with them :-)).
Beach camp site
by MEGAFUNBIKER
The city is on one gigantic long, endless sandy beach, interupted at times by rocks. To the south of the city are a few camp sites, on the beach. This is where the locals and alot of French/Moroccans spent their summer. I spent 2 happy summer there.
Multi-culture and very cheap. But beware of thiefs, so make sure someone is always at your camp-site / tents. Use the camp-site's safe, since they are cheap and effective. If you can afford it, hire a maid. She needs the money, and you can surely use her help. However, if you are too nice, her parents will want you to marry her. They are very cool with additional wifes! They can have up to 4, so as far as they are concern - you have not reach your quota yet! C'est La Vie !!
By plane!Royal Air Maroc works...

By plane!Royal Air Maroc works well and its food is real good.
Leaving the airport to the city by train is highly recommended (and atractive), as the distance is quite far and taxis are expensive (from the airport to the Mosque of Hassan you could easily pay about 187 dirhams: around 15.34 dolars).
