    Not bad

    by

Stayed here one night-on a tour. Hotel was decent. Only real complaint was the shower. It's like 3 feet off the floor to step into it, and the bathroom counter strangely starts in the shower. You'll see what I mean! Just move your towels to the opposite end of the counter and you will be okay.

Directions: Not near any attractions, but we did walk to Hassan Mosque.

    Right for the Price

Nice ambience, clean rooms (even though the carpets on the corridors are a bit musky). Excellent service with minor details such as a lack of safe deposit box, apparently there was a problem with the keys; as they did not have electronic locks. The bathroom was clean, ample and comfortable.
But the real gem is the lounge/restaurant! Excellent food at very reasonable prices. It is not the Moroccan style of the restaurant on the Hyatt -it is rather "European looking"- but the food and the service are top-notch!
Not a 4-star by EU standards but very well located and the service makes up for the lack of luxuries. If you are used to 3-stars in the EU, this place will save you money and provide a perfect place to unwind from a day in the medina.

Unique Quality: Excellent location and sevices. Superb restaurant and lounge.

Very helpful staff.
Since French & arabic are the more popular language in Morocco, I appreciate the staff 's effort to help me with everything. Not all staff can speak good english and they are eager to try and they gave me a hotel nearby map with business card to make sure I can find my way back
Exterior & lounge in this hotel looks fabulous but the interior needs some work.
However, I am very satisfied with the stay because the room is big & the toilet & bath are separated rooms.
I lived on the 3rd floor and there was a weird musky smell. Other than that, the room is good. Free internet access but only have one computer.

If you like continuity on your travels you could try The Ibis hotel chain, Every major city in Morocco has one, although the one in Essaouira is still under construction. For 480 dirham you get a good location, a comfortable bed, a decent size room cleaned every day and constant hot water. Breakfast is extra.
There are now 2 Ibis hotels in Cassablanca, the one near the Medina is the newer one and better located than the one near the train station which can be very noisy due to its proximity to the railway. If you don't fancy that try http://www.hotelstravel.com/morocco.html A good site for hotels in the 3 and 4 star range.
Enjoy your trip.
