Nice Riad
I have just got back from Marrakesh where we stayed at the Casa Lalla which is one of a number of lovely Riads in the old Medina a few minutes walk to the Jemma el Fna Square.
Our room was beautiful, a mixture of simple moroccan and modern decor in coffee and cream tones and the peace and serenity of the place was a sharp contrast to the busy streets outside. The evening meals at the Riad were very good although we were disappoined with the breakfasts. They also serve wine with the evening meal which came as a surprise as I thought it was going to be impossible to find an alcohol in the Medina!
The hosts Annabel and Pierre were extremely helpful and our stay a very pleasant one.

A high class Riad
We stayed in the beautiful and very calming Riad Casa Lalla owned by celebrated chef Richard Neat and his charming wife Sophie.
The Riad has recently been fully refurbished and is finished superbly with a sense of serenity about it - truly lovely. We paid 115 Eur per night for 2 people including a simple breakfast.
You don’t have to be resident to book a meal (350 Dirham, 35 Euros) but booking is essential as there are only 12 seats. There is no menu - you eat what Richard has created that day from the best ingredients from the local market. Eating on the rooftop terrace, being served 6 courses from Richard's repertoire is a treat. We enjoyed every mouthful, it was simply exquisite!
