Don't be mistaken for Tikidi Gardens.

We stayed for 4 days before Christmas 2009, only opened 2 weeks before arrival, what a great place to stay.
I would definetly recommend this hotel to my friends, probably go back myself one day.

Unique Quality: The rooms were lovely, decorated to a morrocan theme. which spaced out in blocks of a lower and upper floor, so great if you have problems getting up stairs. All the hotels fixture and fittings were lovely very high class.

The food was very varied, everything you could imagine and more, a foodies paradise. There was a Italian and morrocan resturant which had to be booked in advance.we went in the morrocan it was superb.

Entertainment was good the team really tried their best, with colourful costumes and varied entertainment on diffent nights along side day activities for customers to join in.

The pool was enormous and only tried by my partner as it was cold, having said that the indoor pool was available with warmer water.

All the staff were curteous to guests and made you feel very welcome.Thank you.

    Directions: La Palmerie district.

Lovely hotle - great staff, nice food, good location.

My husband and I arrived at ClubHotel Riu Tikida Palmeraie on Monday 21st December. The check-in process was quick and we received a nice drink whilst we waited.

The entrance is lovely and we were very impressed with the room. It was spotless clean and had a flat screen TV (with ITV, channel 5 and BBC news for those who want it!). The terrace was huge with a table and chairs outside.

The food in the buffet area was lovely and we were very impressed with the Moroccan restaurant however the Italian restaurant was very disappointing and not even worth a visit.

The entertainment was ok and the band in the foyer was good.

Whilst we were there the wellness centre opened and is fully functioning and the estates team were working on the landscaping.

There is free internet available in the foyer.

We visited the Atlas mountains which was very good and we went into Marrakech on the shuttle bus a couple of times.

It was very relaxing and the staff worked very hand to cater to your every need.

Fascinating place, lovely hotel, great holiday

The Riu Tikida Palmeraie is new - only open, I think for a few months - and there is still some work going on around the complex. Whilst we were there, the spa wasn't open because it was still being finished and there were workmen completing paths and bridges here and there. Also much of the vegetation - trees and plants - are in their very early stages of growth, so there was a lot of bare ground. Here and there, the fine finish of the building work was not perhaps what we would expect of a luxury hotel in the UK, with the odd wonky fitting or splash of paint where it shouldn't be. But these were all minor blemishes on what was otherwise an excellent facility.

The rooms and all the public areas, inside and out, were spotless; testament to the army of staff who seemed to be constantly cleaning and tidying. And, notwithstanding the minor points above, the design and layout of the hotel were excellent and the facilities first class.

We experienced some wet weather during our week's holiday and so only used the outdoor pool once... and it was very cold. But in the heat of spring and summer, I'm sure it would be beautiful. The indoor pool was lovely and our children spent a lot of time in it. We also used the gym and the free internet facilities.

But the real plus point was the service. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure that we were happy and looked after. The food was very good and there was lots of it. The dining facilities never gave us the 'get em in, fill em up and shove em out' feeling that buffet catering can sometimes do. As well as the standard dining there were Moroccan and Italian restaurants that were open each evening. We tried the Morroccan one and again the food was plentiful, varied and lovely.

On Christmas Eve the staff went out of their way to help us celebrate with a brilliantly decorated dining room and a special festive show by the entertainment team. Santa even paid a visit to the children.

The hotel is about 15 minutes drive from Marrakech itself but there was a regular, free shuttle bus into town and we used this several times. Marakech is brilliant. Having got over the initial culture shock of the first day, we were haggling for goods by the end of the week and confidently wandering around the souks.

So, all in all, great hotel in a fascinating country.

Excellent value for money, Friendly and helpful staff.

The Hotel had only been open for one week, The rooms were spacious and luxurious.
The pool area was excellent but the outdoor pool was cold this time of year. The compensation was an excellent indoor pool. The staff were excellent friendly and helpful. It was all inclusive and the standard of food and service was excellent. 2 seperate restaurants a Morrocan, and Italian on site no extra cost but you need to book these I would advise to book prior to travel to avoid dissapointment. A free Bus service was on offer from the Hotel to the centre of Marrakesh.
Marrakesh itself is interesting and vibrant but is not for the person who does not like the hard sell. Everywhere you go people are asking you to buy, haggle etc I personnally did not like this prefering to be left alone to view and walk around.

Chilled Break, Fantastic Value for Money!

by TripAdvisor Member Jones76

Just returned from a lovely chilled weekend at this hotel. The hotel is about Half an Hour from the Airport and 10 Mins from the Centre, ok so its bit further out but the area ia alot more quieter and cleaner. The Hotel itself is modern, Contemporary but with a moroccan Twist. Considering the hotel has only been opened Two weeks, it was nice not to hear any grumbles. The staff cannot do enough for you, please be bear with them, their english is not great but they do their best...come on imagine us speaking Moroccan!!. The pool area is large with lots of sunbeds/day beds. The Entertainment team are always on hand and constantly keeping you entertained but without the holiday camp tackiness. The food was lovely and I was pleasantly surprised, obviously the cocktails are not like the Caribbean but hey its free...just order more!! The rooms are huge, having a seperate toliet is a bonus. The beds are so comfortable and we even had ITV Channel on our TV, Result for those soap & X Factor Fans!!.
Just be aware if you leave loose change lying around, they might think its tips so please use the free in room safe, this did happen to me but money returned immediately the next day.
Its best to visit Jemma El Fna at Night, as its has a fab atmosphere. Its Morocco...Please note you will be and I say you will be hassled, sometimes a litle bit intimidating but its their way of life, the stalls are reptative but always haggle at least half of the asking price. Try to take your time the Textiles and Jewelrey are fab but you have look hard to get unique pieces. As 2 Blonde younger Ladies we did attract attention, ok it was annoying but also quite fun and exciting.
In the next 6 months this hotel will be at its best and I will def return for another weekend here, for me a week would be too long but eveyone is different!
Few tips....
Dont buy cigarettes at UK Duty free, get them either on plane or at Marrakech Airport. Perfumes and make up are not any cheaper! Before going through Passport Control at Marrakech change your dirhams, as they will only accept Euros and sterling in the shops!. Take Euros we found we got a better exchange rate than the Pound, but Obv this could change. Tip with either pound coins or roughly 15-20 Dirhams.

wonderfull you have to go!

time was had by all .we would go back in the future.tipton lot

We arrived in the hotel on 7th Dec for 2 weeks and i was very impressed, The hotel is stunning, each day something different would be added or changed which we were expecting seeing as this was a brand new hotel. The room was gorgeous and the maids done a fantastic job each day. I have no complaints about the food, plenty to choose from and i would highly recommend a trip to the Moroccan restuarant, the food is amazing! All the staff were very friendly. The outdoor pool is really nice but was very cold! The indoor pool has aqua aerobics every day which we went to and had great fun. We attended the art class aswell, plenty to do and see, the entertainment at night is a bit rough round the edges, an organised shambles but good fun all the same!

A fantastic hotel

by TripAdvisor Member French_Vanilla42

My partner and I stayed at the Riu hotel for a long weekend - we booked directly through the hotel website and got a great deal on a suite room.
Our flights we booked with EasyJet.

The hotel, even though parts are still under construction (as far as I know it’s just the spa), is gorgeous. When it’s totally finished it will be a great place to base your stay in Marrakech.
The suite room was gorgeous and was immaculately cleaned everyday.
The staff are all very helpful and cannot do enough for you. The entertainment team are extremely hard working and put on a range of daytime and evening entertainment.
There is a free shuttle bus into the centre which is very handy if you want to visit the souks and see the sites.

During the stay my partner celebrated his 30th birthday – he was made to feel like a king – we got a note through our door in the morning asking for us to present ourselves to the head waiter at the main restaurant at dinner time, he also received a ornamental plate from hotel too. When we arrived for dinner we was directed to a ‘special’ table that was decorated with rose petals, had bottle of champagne and at the end of the meal a birthday cake was brought over and the staff sang happy birthday to him - it was a great end to our holiday.

The only downside was that the spa wasn’t open during our visit; however they do offer a spa treatment service at a neighbouring hotel.

Give it time it will be OK!

by TripAdvisor Member lightingmanLondon

It will get better in time.
Well, I arrived with an advanced case of full on man flu, so was not at my best, the reception was held in the main theatre which whilst strange was efficient enough. Having walked through some very young gardens looking more like the red surface of Mars then sub tropical luxury, we reached our room. This was clean and tidy but as the hotel is only a few months old is already showing signs of distress, I was surprised that they had chosen to use “black wood” furniture and a brown ceiling. The quality of the finishing would not be accepted in any UK hotel, having said that this is not a UK hotel so it was fine. All of the staff a polite and keen to help, and whilst English is not the main language, they do very well to communicate, if your French is at school boy level it would help. The room was kept clean at all times as are all of the communal areas. The pool whilst huge was unfortunately too cold for any but the most hardy, but the indoor pool compensated for this adequately, the gym however was only really for a cardio work out and not weights. Whilst we were there the Wellness centre was not finished but an alternative was offered. Food and drink are as you would expect with the alcohol weaker than in the UK was plenty full and the food basic but again plenty on offer with plenty of alternatives. We only came for a short 3 night brake which for us was enough, it will take time for the hotel to find is identity, but if you are paying the right price it’s a reasonable location {no beach} an acceptable quality, and keen and helpful staff.

this hotel is said to be completed, but I would like to know if it really is finished, and not still a building site.

i intend to stay there in Dec if its OK.

The hotel is due to open on 21 November; the building work is looking good and on schedule.
This is as close to fact as I can give although no-one can predict what will happen on the day.
Hotels in Morocco are not likely to accept guests if not complete. If you have booked through a travel agent I presume they will relocate you, at no cost I should insist.
