Berber Hotel DESERT ACTIVITIES
Haven La Chance provides you different activities for you to enjoy the Sahara desert in all its possible features. The Sahara desert offers great adventure opportunities as it is also the perfect place to explore or just to relax.
Desert Hotel offers Camel treks up to 6 nights in the Erg Chebbie Sand Dunes. A typical trek includes:
1. You begin your adventure by collecting your camel in the afternoon by the Fossil beds outside of Erfoud. A short ride here to become familiar with your “ship” in the desert and bed down after a campfire dinner. Perhaps stay with local folks or sleep under the stars with your bedding that has been provided.
2. Next morning, you travel along the black desert with volcanic rock, pass by the dry river bed and the Tisserdimine Oasis is where you spend the night.
3. The next day, you are comfortable with your beast and can maneuver a bit in the sand dunes with your camel while looking for nomads to camp with. They roam around so no guarantees.
4. Next day, continue south in the center of Sand dunes and sleep there.
5. This day brings another Oasis in the Dunes where you rest behind the tall dunes of Merzouga.
6. You visit the Mfes Lead mines, the village of Merzouga with its famous lake with flamingoes (not may these days) and camp near Haven La Chance Hotel.

Like i told you on a previous tip about all the regions having Huge gates separating, also cities have these kinds of gates or entrance doors. This one on the picture is located in Rissani in Tafilalet Region on the way to Merzouga Sahara Desert.
Local people buy things in local markets, not in touristic shops. Its quite an adventure going inside one of the huge suqs you can find all over the country. Market days are held 3 times a week.
On the picture ou have the Suq of Rissani, down South in Tafilalet Region, on the way to the Dunes of Erg Chebbi, Merzouga.
THE POPULATION
In 1995, the population is of about 28,481.000 inhabitants. Morocco is a young country since 60 % of the population is under 20 years of age. It is also a rural country since 61 % of the population lives in rural areas.
THE LANGUAGE, Arabic is the national language. The 3 berber dialects are used in the mountainous regions and in the Souss. French is widespread, whereas Spanish is used only in the northern areas of Morocco. English is spoken in touristic locations.
THE LARGE CITIES, distribution of the population in large cities (urban and rucal) : (Ici)
THE BERBERS, the first inhabitants to be known in Morocco were the Berbers. They are the most numerous and fall into 3 main groups :
-The Masmouda (west of the Rif and Grand and Middle Atlas)
-The Sanhaja (grand central Atlas and Tafilalet, southern Middle Atlas and Mediterranean Rif)
-The Zenata (eastern Morocco, region of Taza and Meknes).
THE ARABS, they came to Morocco only toward the end of the 7th century with the advent of Islam. In the 12 th century their number increased in different areas.
The souks, the souk is one of the most characterizing aspects of rural life. It's a place and a means of traditional trade. Since the Moroccan population is essentially rural, each tribe has a certain number of souks that are generally held in the open or inside a special enclosing wall. These souks usually carry the name of the day they are held in.

Hi. I am flying into Marrakesh on the 30th and will be there for two nights. It will be my first time in Marocco and I'm a bit nervous because I have tried calling and looking online and I can't find any place that is available to stay at on those dates. If you have any advise please let me know. I get in a bit late and don't want to show up with out a place to stay.
I realized that I made a typo. I meant to write Morocco. :)
Hi.
You're going to be very lucky to find a place over New Year. Marrakesh is now a very popular new years eve venue. I've tried a few palces that I've stayed at at quieter times but they are all full for that time. I ahve found a couple of places that have availability but the cost is £228

MARRAKECH
MOROCCO
I've found a slightly cheaper option, £204.
