Off road activity 4x4's or quad biking

by rob_winguk

Hi all,

Im looking for advice as to where i can partake in a bit of off road activity, preferable a bit of quad biking in Marrakech or Essaouira.

Hotels say they can organise activitys but as im staying in a riad in the median of marrakesh, i don't have this offering.

Has anyone partaken a bit of off road, im looking at a half or whole day, if possible toward the atlas moutain of marrakesh if not i'm willing to travel on bus to Essaouira to get stuck in there.

Any help or advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Travel Tips for Marrakesh

L’Océan Vagabond:Windsurfing in Essaouira

by khalid_2

Essaouira has surfing and windsurfing facilities. The surfers are around in the winter months, while from April to October the alizé winds bring the windsurfers in. A few kilometres south, Sidi Kaouki is popular with windsurfers due to persistently strong winds. To the north of Essaouira, Oualidia is ideal for beginners. Try http://www.purevacations.co.uk for a week’s surf-schooling.

L’Océan Vagabond is a qualified instruction in windsurfing, surfing and kite-surfing with recent equipment. Can put you in touch with surf equipment repairers.

Enjoying the life on the square

by ptitetoile

Everybody recommend it : walk around on the quare at dawn! You won't be bored! You will find "climatised" restaurants (outdoor stands with a very nice display of delicious food), orange juice stands, snake charmer, groups of musicians, moroccans in traditionnal clothes, ... It is a real show and we found no better way to spend the evening!!! But you have to be careful, a lot of people are there to attract tourists and ask for money (for example a picture with a snake around your neck it is a kind of tourist trap)...

Ali ben Youssef mosque

by mafi_moya

This is the oldest mosque in Marrakech and, like most of the others, non-believers aren't allowed in. But it's still worth a look, especially as it's right next to the museum and the medersa. It was built in the 12th century, although I think it's been 'updated' a few times since.

"A True Assault on the Senses"

Marrakesh is unique and one of the world's most exciting cites - from the labrynth of the souks to the frenetic activcity of the Djemaa-el-Fna, it is a total assault on the senses. Definitely not the place to come if you're looking for a quiet weekend away.
