More about Riad Hayati
The Best in Marrakech? I think so.
If you are celebrating something special (a wedding, a birthday, an anniversary) stay in the Riad Hayati. Owned by a globe-trotting British journalist, this small property (there are four rooms) offers high-end luxury, marvelous food, wonderful service and interiors that are almost as cool and stylish as the punters who come to stay. If it is not the most elegant refuge in the city, then it is surely among the top five.
Elegant, personal and chic - Hayati is a real gem
I have just returned from Raid Hayati and am still raving about it to family, friends and colleagues.
The Riad is an oasis of calm in the hub-bub of Marrakech. It has been meticulously renovated by the British owner who is clearly passionate in his attention to style and detail. It is situated down several small alleyways inside the medina. Upon arrival at the airport you are met by Abdel Hak - the manager of the house. I have traveled many places in the world and have never had the type of service that Abdel provides. He is warm, enthusiastic, knowledgeable about the city and willing to go above and beyond to ensure your stay at the Riad (and Marrakech) is everything you hoped it would be. It also important to note that Abdel is not overbearing in any way... he is a gracious host who is happy to help when asked - or leaves you in peace if that is your preference.
The Riad itself (as others have noted) is similar to staying in an elegant home. The rooms are well appointed in a 'Moroccan" style. My room on the second floor had a working fireplace. The bath area was very fresh and clean - something that is a personal pet peeve for me.
The roof deck provides a great place to relax and enjoy a freshly squeezed orange juice while soaking up the warm Moroccan sun! Check out the attached picture.
I also want to note that the owner - Ron (who is a foreign correspondent) went out of his way to provide recommendations for restaurants, local sites and also transportation to other areas in Morocco (I went to the coast as well as the Atlas Mountains).
In sum Riad Hayati is a very special place to stay when visiting Marrakech - I will return!
Tranquil, chic and welcoming
Back to earth with a bump today after a wonderful stay in Marrakech. We cannot compliment Riad Hayati enough - it delivered a little slice of magic and we returned to the UK feeling relaxed and a little bit in love with Marrakech....we'll start saving for our Riad now ready for our retirement!
We definitely made the most of everything the Hayati had to offer - tea on the roof terrace, chess by the fire in the study, and a 'swim' in the enormous bath. We also bought lots of bits and pieces from the neighbourhood where everyone knew "Mr Ron" and this was a far more releaxing experience than bargaining in the souks (we crossed-checked the prices and we were being given good prices because of our association with the Hayati).
We were very impressed with with Abdel who looked after us during our stay - he is a lovely, smily guy who was accommodating without being at all stuffy which was right up our street. He even popped into our room one evening and lit all of the tealights and the fire before we came back for dinner so we retruned to a very romantic scene.
Ron, the ownder, also provides some recommendations for restaurants, day trips etc - we followed a few of these recommendations and they were very good.
Tranquility In Marrakech
After experiencing the hustle and bustle of Marrakech we found Riad Hayati a haven of peace and tranquility. From the riad's website and reports from previous visitors our expectations were high but these were exceeded. There is a nice ambiance throughout and the roof area was a welcome area for us to relax.
Well situated in the Medina area convenient for visiting the souks and museums etc with nearby restaurants and bars.
Abdel, the house man, was always available to meet our needs although on many occasions these were quietly anticipated eg refreshments on returning from an outing. His sister, Mina, produced excellent and varied meals which resulted in us spending most of our seven nights in house. The whole team, including the owner, Ron, who was in regular contact by telephone, are keen to do all they can to ensure your stay is a happy and memorable one.
Jewel of Marrakesh
just returned from spending one week in Riad Hayati, read previous reviews prior to booking and found all of the recommendations to be justified, riad located approx 7 minutes walk from Marrakesch main square. Riad immaculate what aplace to stay.
This Riad has two Jewels, the staff we had contact with Abdel and his sister Mina, what a combination, Abdel is the personification of a good host with his attentiveness and help, Mina spoilt us with her cooking, every meal different every meal excellent.
We ate out on only one evening, the food in an expensive resterauntwhich shall remain nameless was not apatch on Mina's food, we ate at the Riad from then on and were spolit.
Heaven in Hayati
Riad Hayati absolutely lives up to its reputation and reviews.
We were treated like guests of the family in an elegant private home. The ambience is warm, personal and utterly charming. Breakfast in our robes at any time. Tea by the fire.
The staff are always discreet but seemed to anticipate our needs before we did. Mina, the cook
spoiled us with her culinary delights. Abdel, her brother and house manager, is chamingly resourceful at getting last minute reservations for restaurants and excursions.
Hayati was the highlight of our visit to Marrakech. We've reccomended it to all our friends and family.
A beautiful oasis in the middle of chaos!
Well what can I say about Hayati that has not already been said?! It is everything you are led to believe and all the reviews posted already are spot on. The Riad is beautiful, tranquil and stylish and Abdel is a gem, he will cater for whatever you need and is always there when you need him with a big grin on his face! It is just a few minutes walk from a taxi rank and about 10 mins from the main square so the location is great too.
Marrakech is a bustling city and can feel quite claustrophobic at times but as soon as you step in to the RIad you will feel like a million miles away. Enjoy tea or a glass of rose on the roof terrace late afternoon and relax whilst listening to the call to prayer in the setting sun. Bliss!
Four hours from London's bleak mid-winter and we found ourselves in the ancient Marrakech medina and this beautifully restored little jewelbox.
Hayati is a vision a cool elegance without any bling or pretention.
The owner, Ron, is obviously proud of his home and treated us like his personal guests.
The riad has a dream location in a very quiet corner of the Bahia
medina, but is literally a few moments walk from several major sights and delightful restaurants.
I dare say we were totally spoiled by the staff who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable.
Very highly reccomended.
First Class... Riad Hayati is simply first class in every respect--handsome and understated with the best service we've had anywhere...
We stayed at several riads during our trip to Morocco, but none of them offered the warm ambience we found at Hayati...
This place is utterly charming!
Don't Look Any Further
We stayed for 5 nights at Riad Hayati and can't speak highly enough of our experience there. From the location to the room, staff & food the stay was absolutely first class. For anyone looking for a truly relaxing and pampered place to stay in Marrakech, don't look any further than Riad Hayati!
