marrakech what an exciting vibrant city.
"2 females travelling"
on arrival we found it really easy to get our money changed into dirham, theres a bureau de change at the airport, we changed £120 enough to keep us going !! (nearly lasted the whole 4 days !). We left the terminal and followed signs to taxi rank, where there were plenty to choose from, we chose a petite taxi as they are cheaper than large/mercedies ones. We negotiated price of 100 drhm to take us to Riad Maison Rouge. We arrived about 10 mins later.
"Riad Maison Rouge."
This place is beautiful as you can see, it even sells alcohol, which not all riads/ hotels do, added bonus i think ! Ican recomend this riad because its about 15 min stroll to the square, so it makes it a peaceful haven away from all the noise of the city. Also the staff are really friendly and its not expensive, we paid 47 eurs per night for double room with breakfast. BARGAIN. There is also a roof terrace with pool but in nov. the pool was too chilly.
"The place jemma el fna"
This is where you can sit and watch the world go by, a vibrant excitng area.Especially at night, dont be scared to eat in the middle section i was at first thinking of hygene but we were fine the food cheap and good, surprisingly i would eat there again.Entance to soukes are off the square.
We found only 2 places to have a drink (Alcohol) those being The Grand Tazi Hotel ( a bit ropey) but got a cold Hieneken, and lovely restraunt called the Kozy bar/ restruant which is near the BADI palace, well worth a visit, although more pricey but had a bottle of wine YIPPEE.(not that i'm an alcy!!!)
