Go to www.saharatrek.com for excursions to the desert from Marrakech. We are using this company next year for an 8 days trip to Morocco. They have just the itinerary you are looking for - 3 day desert trip. Check it out.

Travel Tips for Marrakesh

La Menara Gardens

by johnsakura

La Menara can be a bit far to go. Anyway you can just walk there in one hour or so, or just go by taxi. dont pay more than 10 dirhams for the cab (and even 10 is too much but ts also ok). Even far from the city centre, Menara Gardens seems to be one of the most photographed monument in whole Morocco.

eat at djamaa el fna

by cachaseiro about Street Vendors

djamaa el fna is the best choice for dinner at night if you like a good atmosphere.
the square has dozens of food stands serving good local dishes in an atmosphere that is out of this world.
a stay in marrakesh is not complete unless you have spend at least one evening here. i love cous cous.

Pamper yourself at Les Bains de Marrakech Spa

by mandybailey

This really is an amazing spa, the building is beautiful! The hammam and massage were very good too. Make sure you have time on your hands and make the most of relaxing in the luxury surroundings. We had the 45 minute hammam and 1 hour massage package, which we felt was very good value for money based on home prices, considering how nice the spa was.

The women in the hammam and the masseues were very friendly, but they didn't speak very much English so maybe learn how to say 'harder' and 'softer' in French before you go!

You're provided with a robe and slippers and the changing facilities are good.

Try to book in advance, it's a popular spa! Thankfully even when it's busy it doen't feel overcrowded in there, it's very peaceful and relaxing.

Treat yourself!

Bargain Hard

by keeweechic

Make sure you bargain the initial price given. Start at around 1/3 of the price given. You will soon see if they are interested in your business or not. You can have quite a bit of fun negotiating the price and they will play the game and give you the usual spin about best price and even if you think they won’t budge and you give up, sometimes they will catch you walking away and offer a better price. A couple of times I pushed it too far and they wouldn’t budge so it was either pay the price or walk away.

Hideous Kinky capital

by weevee

I went here for a couple of days while staying for a month in Essaoiera(highly recommended), a seaside mini version of Marrakech.

Well june is actually too hot to be in Marrakech for a longer time so I only got to stay in just one of the many beautifull medina hotels. Check it out.
